Godox / Flashpoint (Adorama brand) also offers the iM30 on-camera flash which is cheap and fun to use.Ā

I have two of them and sometimes use them in slave mode.

One as key light the other one as fill. Ā

What is old is new again.Ā  While the style is new the functionality is that of the early film hot shoe flashes. Worked great then. Should work well now.

Nice product.

I like the idea of being able to rotate the head 90 degrees on the iA32.Ā  I'm relatively intolerant to on camera flash but that could be interesting.Ā Ā

No ttl?

I work a lot without ttl. As you can instantly see what the flash does you don’t need ttl that much. I only use it if I need less flash power > then the speedlight takes over and adjust the power šŸ’Ŗ > but for this I have some scotch tape that I put in front of the light and then I can control situations where I am close to subjects.Ā

Yeah I was just wondering if those new flashes came without TTL to be honest

Each camera manufacturer has a unique and proprietary TTL protocol.Ā  So for these flashes to support TTL there would need to be a different (and more expensive) version for each camera make.Ā Ā

I too like the idea of being able to rotate the head 90 degrees on the iA32 - the last time I used flash on camera was with my old D2 with its rotatable head, long since replaced.

I was just wondering if Godox finally made a flash or two that supports Leica TTL, I'm beginning to slowly understand that that's not the case, and for those of you who are not into TTL I can understand how that's not a problem. Great :)

Hey Leica Boy,Ā

Ā

you can use all 2,4 MHz speedlights and strobes form Godox with the Leica Trigger (Xpro II L) Ā

And the X3 L trigger too.

(https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0CTMP6SS6/?smid=A3LDQFQF136C0X&tag=preisvergleich-idealode-21&linkCode=asn&creative=6742&camp=1638&creativeASIN=B0CTMP6SS6&ascsubtag=2025-01-09_e747e216ba6b576e0aac295b09f31bfdfa9108d8ee99b15e6d38bbbb5d17caeb&th=1&psc=1)Ā

Ā

This is a link to a online shop (https://store.godox.eu/de/blitzlichtausloeser/5729-godox-xproiil-transmitter-for-leica-trigger-6952344226131.html)Ā

But I have found that many of the speed lights (V350) work with Leica in TTL mode too.Ā

I don't know how this is happening, but I get different results with the manual settings and the TTL settings > And I get a pre flash.Ā

I found this Norwegian seller > maybe they have minor information for you ...

Thank you my friend! I actually have the godox x pro for Leica and sync it with the ad400 pro on ttl.

Ā

I just want a good hotshoe flash. I have the sf 58 from leica but I find the godox v1 to be better. I use ttl flash in the hotshoe for unpredictable and changing lighting for parties and similar for when people aren't stopping to poseĀ

Hey, I use the V1 and the V350 with hotshoe. And I am not shure if you need the O or P version. You need to test this in a shop. That’s what I did with the V350.Ā
I found most of the time the speedlight delivers enough light.Ā
Ā

I even get down to the IM30 because it’s enough light and it only need to be bigger.Ā
I mean the size of the lamp so that light distributes nicer.Ā
Ā

So find a shop and test the speedlights maybe šŸ¤”?Ā
cheers PeterĀ
