Michele Belloni Posted July 18, 2024 Share #4 Posted July 18, 2024 (edited) Just installed. I appreciate the speed with which Leica remedied a problem that is half the fault of the company and half of the users. Animal eye recognition is still in beta. Carrot Posted July 18, 2024 Share #6 Posted July 18, 2024 Wondering what the second bullet point “Correction of errors in the firmware” could be.

All those errors, not yet encountered by the Leica Forum, that could have created pages of threads in a few months time. Now avoided. But we will never know. 2
Jonathan Levin Posted July 18, 2024 Share #8 Posted July 18, 2024 (edited) Do you need to do a camera reset after install? I have saved my Profile so no problem (I hope). UPDATE: I'll answer my own question. No reset needed, but language, date and time will need to be reset. erudolph Posted July 18, 2024 Share #9 Posted July 18, 2024 As usual with the SL type cameras, if you care about consecutive file numbering, you need to fuss around.

BillCB Posted July 18, 2024 Share #11 Posted July 18, 2024 Although I never suffered from the problems this firmware is supposed to fix, I installed it successfully today via SD card. Couldn't see the update on Fotos.
Jonathan Levin Posted July 18, 2024 Share #12 Posted July 18, 2024 I can also confirm numbering resets to 1. I thought there was a menu in LeicaFotos that allowed you to sync date and time when paired but I can't find that.

docdave Posted July 18, 2024 Share #14 Posted July 18, 2024 I just installed the new firmware and had zero issues. Thank God!! I'm glad Leica responded so quickly. I expected a longer wait. Well done, Leica. DAVE

No change in numbering, which continued.
albireo_double Posted July 18, 2024 Share #16 Posted July 18, 2024 Updated with no problems, from the SD card. With Sigma MC-21 adapter and Canon TSE-24 on the camera 😅 while update was running.
rim_light Posted July 18, 2024 Share #17 Posted July 18, 2024 The recent firmware update is somehow been disappointing. While it claims to have fixed an error that I never encountered, therefore I am unable to verify this. Moreover, the other errors still seem to be present at first glance. Additionally, there is still no appreciated information provided e.g. on speeds of the CFe slot. It makes me wonder if Leica is truly committed to developing a professional-grade camera.

I actually thought they might include a couple of additional things in this firmware update because Canon had done that a couple of times; a faulty firmware fixed a couple of days later with the addition of new features. I almost thought of it as an apology for the first botched firmware. In this case I suspect Leica placed on hold whatever firmware update they had cooking and rushed this single fix firmware out. I have no doubt improvements are coming.
Baxter0733 Posted July 18, 2024 Share #19 Posted July 18, 2024 I installed the new firmware and got the screen prompt to restart the camera. Following the Release Notes, I turned the camera off and then it would not restart. Has anyone else had this issue of the camera not restarting after updating? jonoslack Posted July 18, 2024 Share #20 Posted July 18, 2024 Well done Leica! I’ve had this for a few days now and I’ve done the most terrible things with dying batteries and inexcusable power off, and I have completely failed to break it (which I managed easily before). hopefully this is end of story! 6
