I have a mostly trouble free M11 with my current kit. M11 was purchased March 2022. Kit includes an Ultron 28mm coded to Elmarit 28mm, Summicron 50mm V, Color-Skopar 21/3.5 coded to Super Elmar 21mm, and Nokton 75/1.6 ASPH (uncoded).

However, I recently tested both the new Summilux 35mm and 50mm lenses. My first corrupted or unreadable DNG files came as a result from the 50mm Summilux. Both lenses were mechanically faulty or out of spec, so I didn't buy any of them... and since have not had a problem with corrupt DNG files.

I will eventually code one of my lenses as Summilux 50mm ASPH and see if that triggers anything.

I have reported several bugs to Leica regarding this 2.01 and 2.02 update that broke other less severe things... but for me the 1.6.1 firmware was the most stable without any freezes. The 2.01 and 2.02 updates both caused some rare freezes but not many, including introducing the corrupt DNG occurrence.

Mostly trouble free. Bought my M11 in March last year. Had one freeze-up in the first week, then updated the firmware to 1.6.1. No freeze-ups since. I'm still running 1.6.1 on the camera, I haven't updated it.

Also, not had any problems with pressing buttons immediately after switching on the camera. No corrupt or lost files. However, I get occasional wildly overexposed frames with the shutter speed dial set to Auto, or the ISO dial set to Auto. So I'm forced to use manual everything really.

I understand that the overexposure problem has largely been cured with later firmware, but that later firmware seems to have introduced a whole raft of other problems, so I'm sticking with 1.6.1. Maybe Leica can come up with an update that definitively cures all the problems.

I went through this when I bought an M9M at release, and there were quite a few software bugs. Leica did eventually get everything fixed, and my M9M is now absolutely dependable. I'm hoping they'll come good on the M11 too.

I think the biggest thing is, to stick a fresh card in, reformat it in camera, and away you go. I think the majority of issues are with cards used with other camera brands then forgetting to reformat which causes a problem or can do... Just buy and enjoy. Just spend 1 weeks shooting 1200 images with it, not skipped a beat.

I am another who traded/purchased to get the M11 when it was first released. Except for freezing three times (with three different firmwares), I’ve had no problems. However, I essentially use the M11 the same as I used my Leica film cameras so I don't demand much in terms of digital bells and whistles performance. The one bells and whistles feature I use is the favorites menu so I can create profiles for the non-six bit lenses I use most frequently (Summicron 35mm aspherical and Elmarit M 90mm) with the DNG resolution, ISO, white balance, etc. as part of the profile. Otherwise, I prefer to keep it simple. I’m happy to get the composition, depth of field, shutter speed, and focus as good as possible to express what I see.

It's crazy that even the "post if you have a trouble free M11" post has about 1/3 of the "my camera is trouble free" posters caveating it with problems they did have prior to/after certain firmware versions.. or that they have 2 cameras where 1 is great, 1 is buggy or defective.

Definitely not the case.  I have both an M11 and M11M, only the M11M freezes and also has the corrupt DNG issue. The M11 is on original release firmware, the M11M is on 2.02.

I get issues both with and without SD cards, and when using an SD card I always format in camera after downloading images and I never swap SD cards between cameras. Having one trouble free camera and one which gives me the same issues as others makes it clear to me that it's not the users fault - I use my cameras exactly the same way, and I've used the M11 for a lot longer than I've used the M11M.

M11 还会有另一个固件更新吗?听起来好像仍然有一些问题需要解决。

我要买一把M11-P。我只希望一切顺利。

For now, M11-P is as weird as M11,they have every the same problem

🙁 Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

It is very odd how some M11/M11M/M11-P shooters have problems and some do not.

From what I can discern, SD card choice, use of Live View and use of the Leica Fotos app seem to be common denominators for those who are plagued with freeze-ups and corrupted DNG files.

No, My M11-P had 3 broken DNG in its first 50 shots, proper SD card, NON live view neither connected to phone
