"Rigid collapsible" non-collapsible lens it is, here is the APO Lanthar 50/3.5 fully extended in its 45cm MFD glory.

Voigtlander as slowly becoming my favourite lens maker, they have knocking it out of the park at the moment, their lenses are superb, QC is great, only had one issue with one lens that I returned, and even better... I have a dealer local to me that stocks every lens they sell!

Indeed........I have several Voigtlander lenses and never have had a QC / build problem with any of them. With our Leica M lenses we also have Voigtlander, Light Lens Lab, 7Artisans and others, we are spoiled for choices.

Got the Voigtlander 50mm f2.2 earlier today

If anyone is curious how it compares with other voigtlander lenses size-wise I can post comparisons. In this photo it's next to the 28mm f2.8 with which it shares design language, including an identical focus tab

I am interested. It would also be nice if You could make a photo from above, when the lens is attached to the camera.

Definitely not collapsible no. Just lighter and an ode to designs from the past

Can someone confirm that the type I does not collapse? It seems a very weird design choice assuming it does not...just curious. I have the 50mm APO Lanthar f2 and love it.

Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 50mm f/3.5 (Type I) is a compact, non-collapsible and light-weight normal lens.

My first two pictures with (new) Voigtländer APO Lanthar 50mm f3.5 and Leica M11P

Both with f3.5 at minimum distance 35cm

I heard the internet was invented to share cat pics 🤣

Fred Miranda shared images of the new Apo 50mm f/3.5, which appears to be collapsible. However, I see people saying it doesn't collapse...

My pictures of new Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 50mm f/3.5 (Type I) with M10 @ f3.5, excellent optical performance of sharpness from centre to the edge of images.

It's the 'rigid' version that appeals to me.

Rigid

I have all the 4 versions here with me.

if it is collapsible I haven’t figured out yet how to. 🤔

Each of the four shows the actual different finishing typ Voigtländer do offer.

I felt in love with the Typ2 style in „black paint“

Fred Miranda also mentions that one of the versions mimics a collapsible version - without however actually being collapsible. He also shows an older Nikon version of the CV which was apparently collapsible.

That's sad and I don't get the point of merely mimicking a version that is collapsible.
