rtai Posted December 27, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 27, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am looking for a 1:1 extender for a 60mm Elmarit-R Rom. Do I need the 14299 the one with Rom contacts? I haven’t found any information whether the older one the 14198 will mount. I plan to use the combination on an M10M using a 6 bit coded R to M adapter. Advertisement Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Hi rtai, Take a look here Which 1:1 Macro extender for 60mm Elmarit-R Rom?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
UliWer Posted December 28, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 28, 2023 If you want to use the 60mm Macro-Elmarit-R with an adapter for the M10 (or any other M camera with Liveview) the ROM contacts don't matter. There is no direct connection between the lens and the camera. Automatic diaphragm won't work and you don't need it as the Liveview picture is bright enough even if you stop down to f/16. You can chose correction for the lens manually in the camera's menu, but nothing else is necessary (and I think that even this "correction" isn't necessary if you don't think that seeing your lenses data in the EXIF is essential). So you can use any Macro-Adapter-R. I use the old Macro-Adapter-R 14256 and I get 1:1 with it.
rtai Posted December 28, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted December 28, 2023 Thank you! I am not concerned about EXIF or any software correction but worried about if the lens will mount on the adapter at all due to the ROM contacts.
