Q3 system error

I turned on the camera - screen was black. Then message appeared saying please turn off and then turn on your camera. Did that a couple of times, same problem. On the latest turning back on there's a red message saying System Error.

Any suggestion?

By the way, I turned it off, took out battery and SD card and will wait another 15 minutes before trying again.

Try charging up the battery to 80%. Change the card to one you have used previously with this camera. That way you can begin to elimate some of the variables.

I would also try a different SD card. If the card is older it could have reached its read and write limit.

I have a funny feeling this is card related, so I ordered a new SD card. Will report back if it solves the problem.

update: I installed a new SD card, still can't boot up and still get thjey system error message. I'm sending it back to Leica tomorrow.

Try removing the battery for 10 seconds and then putting it back in. That's fixed issues with my Q2 before.

Keep us posted. Was your camera one of the ones that was experiencing random freezing?

I tried the new SD card, no change. Still got the system error message. I spoke to Leica who told me to send it in for repair/replacement which I did Tuesday. Bummer, I wanted to use it for New Year's Eve here in Key West.

no I didn't have random freezing. All was fine with the camera until it wasn't.
