M6 frame counter resets to 5

Hi, I have an old M6 that has an issue with the frame counter. When I open the base plate it resets to about 5-6 and not to -2. Is there some way to reset this your self or do I need to leave it to a pro to fix the issue?

Another "issue" I have is that the rewind lever is very tight when rewinding the film. I have the hold the camera very steady to be able to rewind it and it I let go of the lever it will wind itself up again. Is this normal or do I have some kind of issue with the "clutch"?
