Kim Dahl Posted November 2, 2023 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Those who have ordered and received but M11-P. Is it "easy" enough to get hold of? or Is it like the Q3 ? .. I've been offered one and don't really know if I should say yes or no. Does anyone have an idea about delivery here in Europe ? If it's only a relatively short time before the next shipment, but if it's 6-12 months before the next shipment, I don't "dare" say no...
Advertisement Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 Hi Kim Dahl, Take a look here How rare is the Leica M11-P ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted November 2, 2023 Share #2 Posted November 2, 2023 Buy it if you want it. Don't let yourself be stampeded by Torschlusspanik. It is always the same with Leica: First a batch, then a period of relative scarcity and a frenzied buying mob, after a few weeks the market stabilizes. It will make a nice Christmas present. 1 1

I would suggest to call around to a few dealers in your area and ask them this question. Heck, put yourself on a few lists and before you know it you'll have one.
Kim Dahl Posted November 2, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted November 2, 2023 I think you might be right, Jaap, A pretty nice Christmas present for myself. 🫣 Maybe my wife can borrow the Q3 then... 😉 But seriously. It's a big decision for me. If I buy M11-P then: M-D and M11-P and Q3 (Leica ME (M9) to be sold (with new censor) will be what I have in Leica. Because I simply cannot afford two different mount system cameras in Leica brand, if I have to get a new M11 I'm super happy with my M-D but would like one with a screen if I'm going to use it for paid work. Canon or Nikon will then be my bread and butter camera for weddings, portraits and events - Along with Q3 and M11-P. But I think it will be an ok set 😉 I know only I can figure it out. But it's nice to get some good advice along the way - thanks for that 🙂

They have them available now. BH has them as well. If you aren’t in the US I’m sure others have them.
lexontario Posted November 2, 2023 Share #6 Posted November 2, 2023 If depending on the camera for work better keep a backup camera in case you acquire a M11 with issues and it needs to go back to Germany or you have to get it replaced. Getting a trouble free M11 is a crap shoot. Hopefully you get a good one.

davidmknoble Posted November 3, 2023 Share #9 Posted November 3, 2023 I placed a pre-order on day one and on day 2 had one shipped to me. I prefer the brass so I have the chrome version. I think this is probably one of the most available releases in recent time. Just guessing.
setuporg Posted November 3, 2023 Share #10 Posted November 3, 2023 B&H sold out of the black first day midday and silver the next day, silver seems back in stock but not the black.
scott kirkpatrick Posted November 3, 2023 Share #11 Posted November 3, 2023 I said this elsewhere, but the first-day number of M11-P's was quite impressive. I got mine directly from Leica USA, but Popflash, who usually takes weeks more to get stock since they are not Leica, also called me only a day later. Jaap's point is the more important question -- once the initial surge is delivered, how many weeks will it take to restock for those who need to think about it a bit longer?
setuporg Posted November 3, 2023 Share #12 Posted November 3, 2023 Also mine, ordered on the release date, was made in July! Imagine how well they have prepared.
LocalHero1953 Posted November 3, 2023 Share #13 Posted November 3, 2023 Leica are no different to other non-mass market makers. I ordered a Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k from Wex after it was launched. I was promised one for delivery after a couple of days, it arrived several weeks later. They said I'd received the last of a first batch of seven the (national) dealer had been sent, and the next delivery would not be till the new year.
