Advertisement Posted September 23, 2023 Posted September 23, 2023 Hi Al Brown, Take a look here M Glass on Mirrorless Bodies. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted September 23, 2023 Share #22 Posted September 23, 2023 I suspect the smallest is my Sony A7s1. No problem with M lenses, even wides, as it has a Kolari mod sensor. My Kolari mod A7r2 is a bit bigger but not by much. Goal is video but of course it would also be pressed into service for digital stills (I can't quite justify the $9k for the M-11 and not have video capability and I don't want to carry multiple cameras) if you have leica glass already, why not stay in the leica ecosystem and move into the L mount, say a panasonic S5 IIX and see what the video specs are like from the SL3 also from memory, i think R glass is quite popular with the whole cine crowd
JMF Posted September 25, 2023 Share #25 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) The R lenses will better withstand the torque of the remote controled follow focus units used on cine modded cameras . The M lenses are more fragile and will eventually suffer mechanically. Edited September 25, 2023 by JMF
