The annual Ironman Wisconsin was held here this past weekend and I love shooting it because it's so perfect for the Monochrom. I also enjoy watching it because it just blows my mind what some people are physically capable of with a lot of training. The 2.3 mile swim is first, then 112 miles on a bike, capped off with a 26.2 mile run.

In general, I'd tend to agree, but not in this case. Maybe the colourful suit of the funny guy would possibly better stand out from the runners if it was in colour, but photo's 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 are perfect in B&W, IMO. We get down to the essentials, without being disturbed by a multitude of colours.

As you wrote it, the serie is perfect, but it gives pride to swimmers in neopren suits

Photo N°3 in color, the glasses reflecting (I assume in bright color) and caps of different color for men and women would have been quite pleasing for me, and of course N°6.

There is colour in the caps, but it's not particularly interesting. All the men wear green and the women wear pink. The wetsuits are all black neoprene. The photos of the swimmers are taken just before sunrise so the light isn't particularly pleasing for colour. 

Here's a shot from a couple of years ago when I shot colour.

A superb set.  #3 makes me think of post apocalyptic movie, made eerie by the opaque seeming goggles.
