tim Posted November 2, 2023 Share #83  Posted November 2, 2023 As my M10 is my EDC camera I do simply use the Leica Neopren pouch to protect my M when I put it in any bag that I carry. And in case I carry a second or third lens, I simply use the standard leather pouches that come with the lenses. When I am travelling I am using whatever bag pack, messenger bag or tote bag I would be carrying anyways, since I don’t want to draw attention to my camera gear. cheers Tim

tappan Posted November 29, 2023 Share #85 Â Posted November 29, 2023 I have a different need/want. I want to carry my M10 with a lens, and also carry 3 lenses in a waist pack. I don't like camera bags. Anybody else use this configuration? Any thoughts on your favorite waist pack/sling? Thanks.

I’m really interested in the bag but having not handled it this doubt stopped me from ordering one. Thanks! ...sorry, missed this question for me until now. No problems at all with the zipper. If you open it all the way you can just forget it's there, and it's a plastic zipper, anyway, so I doubt it would scratch anything. The interior is well padded and there's enough space inside for at least an M with lens attached and two more lenses, if necessary. I use a velcro partition to keep one lens tight against one end of the bag, but it has enough depth to stack a couple of smaller lenses, especially if you make use of the old photojournalist's trick of duct-taping two lens rear caps together for the two lenses. Plenty of space. Hope that makes sense. Peter

I want to carry my M10 with a lens, and also carry 3 lenses in a waist pack. I don't like camera bags. Anybody else use this configuration? Any thoughts on your favorite waist pack/sling? Thanks. Over the years I have purchased many waist (fanny) bags for this purpose. The important thing is a reliable buckle and belt arrangement as the weight of multiple lenses usually exceeds the design brief. I finally settled on two depending on the occasions, both leather, one is a COACH with a steel clasp suitable for 2 LUX's, and the other a soft-leather Eddie Bauer suitable for less weight. In both , I hand stitched (fine fishing line) to strengthen what I perceived as failure points in them. The problem with using these, is that whilst the waist belt is open to change lenses, I was always fearing that a lens could fall out, I have decided my lenses are too expensive to carry this way, so now these fanny packs are used to carry lighter items.  I do carry my M10-R & 50APO in a front cross-body sling bag which is nylon ultra light weight, and does have some internal padding that allows me to confidently carry the M without the neoprene cover. Notice the direction of the zipper opening, this is quite important so that the opening is always in the most vertical position when the bag is on your body, so as to avoid anything falling out unexpectedly.  Welcome, dear visitor! Deejaybeephoto Posted November 29, 2023 Share #89  Posted November 29, 2023 After much deliberation (and very useful research on this forum), I’ve just got a Domke F10 in black canvas.  I’m extremely pleased with its size, capacity and general layout - and the well-versed negative (ie the large amount of Velcro) doesn’t bother me at all in practice.  I particularly like the carry handle and the large zipped front pocket, and the lack of a zip on the main compartment makes access very easy but, at the same time, very secure.  Domkes seem to be expensive here in the UK, but I got mine at a good price.  There are lots of bags on the market and I was considering a sling at one stage, but settled on a conventional shoulder bag in the end. I already have a large Domke F2 which I bought just before I sold all my Nikon FF gear (not great timing 😩), so I’m familiar with Domke bags’ general lack of significant padding and its unique fastening system.

I have an F-5xb that I did the same thing too! It works so much better than the super loud and hard velcro. My bag is in the olive RuggedWear though. Paired with a strap from the Peak Design Sling 10l and the bag is very nice. Although I have changed to a Domke F-8 for my small Leica M kit. I'll try and post an image or two in a bit.
jon595 Posted November 30, 2023 Share #92  Posted November 30, 2023 I've been enjoying using a small Domke F-8 in black canvas to haul around my Leica M10 kit. This bag is small, discrete and paired with a Peak Design Sling 10l strap, is very comfortable walking, hiking or even biking. All 3 lenses have 52mm magnetic adapters so I can easily put a filter on any lens. The little flash is manual control and has a built in detachable wireless trigger. The bag is well padded and everything has its own place and is fairly easy to get too. ChrisS Posted December 18, 2023 Share #94 Â Posted December 18, 2023 For my M10 and 2-3 lenses, the Pacsafe works very well for me. Â https://pacsafe.com/collections/econyl/products/metrosafe-ls200-anti-theft-medium-crossbody-bag
KFo Posted December 19, 2023 Share #95  Posted December 19, 2023 I also use Pacsafe when I want to carry a camera and a lens.  Not the same one you have but an older model in more of a horizontal format.  I have two different sizes, plus a Pacsafe daypak (urban). I love them, they don't say "camera bag" and the anti pickpocket features are very nice! pippy Posted December 21, 2023 Share #96  Posted December 21, 2023 (edited) Believe it or not my absolute favourite '1 Camera & 1 Lens' bag is this; https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/multipocket-bag-travel-black/_/R-p-123350?mc=8619465&c=black_grey&utm_term=8619465-4244553&srsltid=AfmBOorE0tm2_OqAOSAs6QQQ0hp17ECSa0AVBdzL_U_WgGkGGCD9jN_LE4w It might not look much (which is partly the idea) but it's very small (18cm x 16cm x 4cm / 7" x 6" x 1 3/4"); is waterproof; has velcro fastening for the flap which covers a slim external zipped area (perfect for cards etc.); on the underside of the flap there is a second zipped area (perfect for cards etc.); inside and at the rear of the zipped main compartment there is a further slip-in area (perfect for cards etc.); the main space is large enough for an M with, say, 50mm(*) leaving enough space for a spare battery or two either side of the lens. The bag comes with detachable / adjustable strap and there is provision at the rear to mount it either on a belt or rucksack waist-band. Usually (if it's dry!) I carry mine without the strap and, instead, just use the camera's strap with the camera inside the case but leave it unzipped and use the velcro-flap to keep the camera protected when not in use. Admittedly, at £9.99 / $12.70, it's over 7x the cost of the Walmart alternative but it's still relatively affordable in comparison with some of the bags mentioned earlier. Philip. * Edit : Actually this might depend on which 50mm is mounted. For instance I'm not 100% sure whether a Canon 50mm f0.95 or Leica 50mm f0.95 Noctilux would squeeze in...
