Shepherdphotographer Posted February 12, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone, I have many Leica R lenses that I have used up to now on a Nikon D810 body, replacing the original Leica R bayonet with a Nikon AI. I decided to buy (in a few days) a Leica SL; since economically it is not convenient for me to have the bayonets changed again on all the lenses, I prefer to buy a single adapter from Nikon AI to Leica L and leave it mounted on the SL body. Also, this way I could continue to use the same lenses on the Nikon D810, eventually. Here on the forum I read that focusing with Leica R lenses on the SL (with R to L adapter) is very easy: can I be equally sure that it would also be easy with the Nikon AI to L adapter? I also read that focusing is even easier on the SL2, but the SL2 costs too much for my possibilities today. Thank you all in advance! Good Light! jaapv Posted February 12, 2023 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2023 There will be no difference in manual focusing as it is done on the sensor, not by the mount. It is irrelevant which adapter you use. Make sure that you assign magnification to the Fn button.
