Marac Posted January 9, 2023 Share #21 Posted January 9, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wont sell it, it is a survivor of a sensor cover glass operation and has now semi-retired, besides that, nobody would want it.

Scrub that. I just let it go to a really nice Gentleman, it's his first Leica M digital and he got it for a song or two. I have my M9M and I have a Medium format CCD Mamiya for my CCD colour fix. I'll miss it for sure but it was nice to see an old face light up with joy at finally owning a Leica M9

charlesphoto99 Posted February 8, 2023 Share #29 Posted February 8, 2023 Mine is so beat I doubt I could get much for it, so keep it around as a memento or when my M10-R needs to go on a vacation. It did get a new sensor at the end of its working life. Here it is with my old M10 the month it came out (and was traded a year and a half ago for my black paint R). Welcome, dear visitor! vonheim Posted February 8, 2023 Share #30 Posted February 8, 2023 I have my M9 since 2009 with the original sensor. Unable to part with it, never felt like upgrading to the newer models, and the two batteries I bought are still working well. If it breaks down at some point I suppose it will be a cost tradeoff on what to do. If they offer CMOS sensor I will probably go for the M11. I just really like the out of camera results on the M9. Usually I consider myself a gear head, but the M9 gives me delight and I feel content :)
DennisPT Posted February 11, 2023 Author Share #31 Posted February 11, 2023 The price difference between used M9 with new sensor (M9-P in particular) and used M10 is getting closer than ever, will be interesting to see what happens down the road. I still have my M9-P and M9M, loving them.
M6bigletter Posted February 22, 2023 Share #32 Posted February 22, 2023 (edited) No I won’t trade my M9 and will use it until it gives up on ghost. Going back a few years ago, I had given up on film completely I needed a digital version of my old M6. Found this M9 online and could not believe it was offered at almost half of the price compared to a several other copies. The only info I had was it had the sensor replaced and a few low res pictures by the seller. It looked a bit beat up and took a gamble and I made the right choice as it’s working flawlessly. The only problem I had at the beginning was the frame line would jump around in the viewfinder but after using it for a while the problem disappeared. I have since shot over 40,000 images with it and love the pictures. It’s been with me to many places and I walked around so much with it hanging on my neck and it’s been a great companion. It would be a betrayal if I traded it in. Looking forward to more pictures and adventures together and more brassing also. Welcome, dear visitor! klinerm Posted February 26, 2023 Share #33 Posted February 26, 2023 I've had my M9 since 2010, factory converted it to M9P, and I've got an extra almost new M9P put away in a safe. I am blessed to be able to afford pretty much any camera I want, but I've never seen anything capture magic as consistently as my M9. I don't know if it's the CCD, or that Kodak supposedly "tweaked" the sensor to look like Kodachrome, but I have no plans to ever let mine go. Welcome, dear visitor! miessli Posted March 1, 2023 Share #36 Posted March 1, 2023 no will not sell my m9p and my m9m, they are both keepers and still performing great, very happy with both and enjoying it.
dsetiono01 Posted March 2, 2023 Share #37 Posted March 2, 2023 Feeling like the luckiest man to have scored this set. Full box, Minty, the bag unused. Question is....Should I use it or Keep it safe in a deposit box ? Previous owner used it carefully, put in around 2K shutter actuation with it and was diligent enough to go through all the latest sensor change etc (ccd 16). Thinking of using it until it no longer works Welcome, dear visitor!
