The Nikon SC-17 and SC-28 are functionally the same. The SC-29 is the one with the red window, which has an AF-assist function on some Nikon cameras, but otherwise functions the same as the SC-17 and SC-28.

Hi @Santos

Which NIKON cables are you using to be able to still use the TTL function with your M6?

I have the M6 TTL and the 24D and would love to find the right camera off-shoe cord to still be able to have the TTL option.

Cheers,

B

Both those should Work. I would go for the SC-17 as @RexGig0the one with the "Red Window" although looks Retro Cool, it is not Functional on M's

I have a SF26 flash, which works on my Leica CL and worked on my M10. It does not fire on my M11 and Leica was unable to fix the problem. The reason is that the SFs flash shoe allows the flashes contacts to go too far. In my view the repair should have been straightforward by replacing to bottom plate of the flash. Leica returned camera M11 and flash SF26 to me on first week of May stating that it had been repaired and inspected. Unfortunately, the problem had not been fixed. Thus, I doubt whether Leica has the simple fine mechanic expertise and the quality control necessary for a high quality camera manufacturer.

Not sure what Leica means by "too far" but my copy of the SF26 works normally on both my M11 and digital CL. I would ask Leica if they have still spare parts, especially hot shoes, for this discontinued flash.

Using the Leica 24D with the M11 and it works well in all modes including TTL.

It does fire a pre-flash in TTL approx 0.1 seconds before the shutter fires and main flash.

The Nikon pin outs are identical to Leica so and cable will do - the sc-17 is most common. (Note - although the pin outs are the same they have different functions so a Nikon TTL flash will not work on a Leica)

Hi all, just bought an SF24D at a very good price. I am happy to trade from my SF60 wich was too heavy and bulky for carrying around casually.

Does anyone know if a remote trigger with nikon TTL function would work betwen my M10R and SF24D? I have the nikon cord which works well but I would like to experiment wireless. @Santos I would love to hear more about your workflow with that flash. I can understand the lure of buying more than one as it is very good quality object it seems

Interestingly, the TTL does this pre-flash-lag-shutter/actual flash thing. which is fine for staging images, impossible for spontaneous action/street. "A" works in that case.

On the SL2, the pairing is flawless, no pre-flash, no delay, perfect communication of +/- settings either from camera to flash or vice versa, very happy about it. So a wireless TTL trigger could be interesting either way (full TTL on SL2, A mode on M10r or TTL for staged shots).

Many thanks in advance.

To correct an earlier statement. The godox/flashpoint on camera controllers now do TTL (and High speed TTL) with at least the M10. My understanding was the M10 and M11 use the same flash system.  I also might add I use the Godox with my Q2 and it works well.  Someone mentioned the SF26 and the only caveat is it doesn't do High speed TTL.

The Godox trigger does not work on the M11 in TTL or HSS in combination with Godox flash. you can still use M mode.

what I found with the older flashes of Leica on modern camera, is that they go to sleep and when you turn on the camera they don't wake up.

you have to remember to push a button on the flash.

The only fully compatible flashes for M11 are SF-60 and SF-40.
