I don't have the 18 CL pancake with autofocus, but I do have the 18 SEM, and it does a fantastic job, as long as the critters hold still for a moment:

Subsequent shots where she attacked my camera strap would have needed f/2.0 for a little faster shutter speed, and the ability to focus closer, as the loop of the camera strap is less than 0.7 m away from me.

Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 ISO 800 1/200 f/1.4  - Cropped, probably played a little too much in lightroom, heavy vignette added.

Somewhat OTT but does anyone know what -eg or -egg at the end of a Swiss place name means as in Val Roseg above. I used to live in Switzerland and I got more definitions than there are ways of cooking Swiss cheese. Variously: watershed, promontory, steep sided valley, saddle of a mountain or hill, corner and so on. Schweitzer Deutsch being basically a verbal not written language, does not help with trying to determine the meaning or derivation of words.

Two shots from my yesterday’s stroll late at the beach, the sun was low. I was testing the 11-23 zoom.

So here they are.

CL + 11-23mm zoom

Hopefully my 11-23 will be in the post this morning. Looking at your shots I am not sure what some folks are complaining about with higher ISO noise.

I don’t know either. I don’t have a problem shooting CL well beyond iso 1600. But for me, my SL is perfectly fine at iso 50,000. Oh well, I guess it depends on an individual, technique, post processing...

These two pics were shot at low iso ... not the example you would look for. Underxposed by -3EV. If you click through the image, it will take you to my Flickr, where you can see the complete exit data for the shots.

I’m happy with the 11-23. It’s not “my lens” though, bought it for my wifey, as she likes a zoom and AF. I much love the CL with all the small Leica-M lenses. For example, CL with the Elmar 24, or Summarit 35 are perfect combos in my opinion. So small ... In comparison, 11-23 is a bit large, for me.

last two shots with SL, SX80-R @f/1.4 (I'll see if I can get this look with the 55-135, but not today).

Here's a shot taken last night at 6400 ISO.  Lighting was very poor indeed and I decided to try it without turning the room lighting up.  to something I really want to use but it my be useful as an illustration here.  Leica CL with TL60mm at f2.8

Exposure pushed up by 2.12 stops, colour temperature changed to 2,312 plus some adjustments to highlights and shadows.
