Still using my M9 bought 2010, converted to P 2012, few months ago had corroded sensor replaced by Kolarivision. They are fantastic to deal with and also have ready-to-purchase cameras with replaced sensors, can't recommend them highly enough. I'm keeping mine till the wheels fall off, I have so many cherished images of my kids growing up I've taken with it, Nikon D850 (which I also love) still doesn't come close. M9 is magic, at least for me.

After using a loaned M9 for a short time in 2012, buying a M 240 in 2013 (disappointed, selling it again after some weeks), now I returned to the M9 with a replaced sensor (ID15, corrosion free), last serviced in 2019:

One of the previous owners thought, it would be a good idea to "disguise" the red dot, so I ordered a new one for replacement... In every other respect, totally happy with the camera.

I was one of the crazy ones who had three M9s at one point. One of them had a shutter failure and was not repairable. The other one was sold and I still have this one which has been my most used camera with over 40,000 shutter counts. It's still going strong and if I sold it it would be getting rid of all of the fond memories that it captured for me all these years. The CCD sensor color is absolutely magic which the DNG files require minimal editing or at times might have to tone down the color a bit as it can be too much sometimes. All in all it's such as niche camera and none of the Leica digital Ms are as unique as the M9.

At the moment, M9 and M8.2 are sitting side-by-side on my desk, both are beauties and I like shooting both, but one has to go again.

Sorry M8.2... 🥲

I’m the crazy one sold an M10-P for an M9-P in 2024. I especially like the images shot at ISO640, underexposed 1-2 stops, pulled back in LR, just like push processing of film.

Ah, I saw your post on Reddit. Congrats on the M9-P!
