Sony colors? 😞 Really? Sony is infamous for crap colors!😞

That is why it is in the list of complaints :). Because of a rumored Sony sensor, some forum members expect to see Sony colors. That is nonsense, IMO.

So, if you peruse the new sub forum thoroughly, you can see complaints about:

annoying always-on live view shutter mode

shutter noise, clunk upon turning on

shutter open all the time gathering dust

function buttons failing intermittently

camera freezing without a clue as to why

the thin sensor still not helping with wide lenses in the corners

Sony colors

confusing EVF display implementation

Maybe we should group the complaints into those coming from people who own an M11 and those who don't own an M11 +  Oswalt, who is quite an outlier ;-).

In the UK a Leica M4 cost £336 in 1971 (Wallace Heaton Blue Book). With inflation that would be £5,060 today. That makes the M11 at £7,500 look like a bargain.

Let' s see for what price you can sell your M11 in 50 years and how long it will work.

Not specifically M11 related, but there is a rumor that a Q3 may be on the horizon - possibly with the M11 sensor.  Once of the reasons I moved away from Sony was because the colors took a long time to correct in post.  I have had no issues with my Leicas in that regard.  Can someone who owns the M11 comment on the color science?  I was looking to get my name on a list for the Q3, but would reconsider if the colors aren't in line with the more recent Leica cameras.

As an M10-P and M10-R and Sony a1 and a7r4 user, I consider the M11 to have the best overall color straight from a RAW conversion in Photoshop of all five of these cameras, especially at higher ISO values.

My list so far:

1) An auto ISO shutter speed minimum of 1/(3f) is needed. 2f is too slow and 4f is overkill and drives ISO higher than it need be.

2) The camera doesn’t connect to Fotos on iPad even with a USB3 Thunderbolt - and the WiFi is too slow for other than a handful of shots

In my tests wifi is 2X faster than USB-C

If I use a USBC card reader on my iPad and put the SD card from the camera into it, it is literally many, many, many times faster than the Wi-Fi. It can eat a hundred shots in no time at all whereas with WiFi I’d pretty much have time to heat the water for a bath, have the bath and clean the bath….

This is good news.  The colors from my SL2-S are fantastic at high ISO and I'm curious to see how the new M11 sensor compares.  I found the a7r iv colors needed some tweaking and my a1 is slightly better.  My Q2M colors are really easy to work with ;)

yes card reader is fastest. I thought you meant USB-C from camera to device (PC, iPad, etc)...for some reason its slower than wifi.

There is no Wifi transfer to PC, AFAIK.

correct, thats why I thought he meant usb-c to your device as wifi only works on iPhone or iPad.

Regardless usb-c to from M11 to your PC (or iPad) should be far faster...ideally as fast as using a usb-c card reader. Otherwise its value is very limited.
