Just look at Ricoh GR series. GR III needed a brand new lens to support 24MP up from 16MP. 
Even Fujifilm has to improve the lens of X100V for its 26MP. 

60MP will be a huge jump from Q 24MP. Still sufficient for 47MP colour sensor. But not enough for 47MP Monochrom.

That’s why I would love a newer lens for Q3. 
 

BTW : Q and Q2 being Leica’s best selling digital cameras of all time. Their Summilux-Q 28mm R&D costs have been paid for long ago. 

That's my wish too...implementing a new designed lens, but maintaining the (SL/SL2)battery😇

i would love to see a vario lens but with only two step, like 28 and 50, to keep the 1.7 aperture and the sensor of the m11.

this could be a crop king, using the 28mm step till 50mm and the 50 till 85/100mm without too much megapixel loss and distortion in portrait

don't even know if could be possible 

and please add tethering to capture one

The lens would be bigger than the SL 24-70 lens and likely weigh well over 1kg if you want to keep the f1.7 maximum aperture. Personally that would destroy the usability of the Q and would likely increase the cost of the camera to closer to $7,500. At that point you would be better buying an SL2 and a 24-70 lens with the option to add other lenses you might find useful.

I have some hardware wishes: 

1. I wish a real joystick for back focus and more if I like to program it (fn) 

2. I wish a wheel with a top and side pusch (top push we have (iso) , but the side push enters exp comp.)

3. On off button has a fn push too

4.  And the wheel for entering the time has a push button for the high speeds (1/3000 up to 1/4000) 

5. And by the way: the play and the menu button could easily be used for something else if we need in a situation. 

So I would give them the ability to be whatever I need in the situation. 

Most of the time I habe the replay of the image on the holding shutter so I can count the times I press play. (changing it would be very fast) 

6. Maybe I would like a front button Fn. Because the I have more than 2 fingers ... 😁

SL2 with SL Apos 28&50 would be an even better choice...(so did I😇)...

I envision a concept I call the QL. It's a Q3 with the sensor from the M11 (same as the Sony A7Riv) , an electric shutter (as on the Nikon Z9), image stabilization and an L-mount. It can use the small lenses from the CL at 30 megapixel resolution, and the lenses from the SL at 61 MPX resolution. It can also use M glass, either with the existing L to M manual focus adapter, or with a new autofocus M to L adapter. This camera is the culmination of several camera lines. Lest you think it is not doable, it is essentially similar to the existing Sigma FP, but would have Leica design and simplicity. Viewed from another perspective it is a L-mount A7Riv with cleaner Leica lines. 

In one camera we would have a CL2 (increased resolution, image stabilization, pathway for CL lenses), an updated and better Q, an EFV M camera, a miniaturized, higher resolution SL (the Q has always proceeded the next SL), and the essence 100 years of Leica lineage... big performance from small cameras.

Do you mean a smaller SL version? I’m sure that Leica has been considering these and similar options for years.  Nothing new to us, I fear.

It is fun to imagine a synthesis of the best features of all Leica models into a best of all worlds camera... but for Leica, there is likely no path to a growth in sales from this direction. The Leica audience is small. Encouraging us to own multiple cameras - each idiosyncratic, with different strengths/weaknesses - and to make improvements periodically within each camera line - that seems to be the ticket that works for Leica within its particular market niche.

It is an argument that Leica would like us to buy more of their products.  A camera that could be a CL SL and M will in my opinion be the ABSOLUTELY way to go.  Otherwise, we move on to other brands.  
I just bought Canon (and if anyone is in doubt then the picture quality is on par with Leica but the Canon is BIG)

And then it ends up that I only have one M left.  I do not buy the latest (M11) because the difference is too small and the exchange price too high.  
So I sincerely believe that if Leica does not make a smaller model SL where we can use TL / SL / M lenses then Leica will completely lose its professional customers to only Q and a few M  

As a professional I want a versatile product.  So it must be able to use TL / SL / M lenses and in a smaller form factor than SL.  This is where Leica has its strengths.

Everything else I solve today with the Canon R3.  And there is a world of limitations in a SL to other brand (Nikon, Sony and Canon) Leica SL is never going to compete with them.

Sony A7c (509g) weighs less than Leica M ... and only 25% larger volume, mostly due to depth which allows for IBIS (M11 124 x 71 x 60mm vs. A7c 138.8 x 74.9 x 38.45).

If you prioritize size and consider non-Leica brands, how did you end up with Canon?

I think Sony's colors are hard to work with.  It's important that I do not spend a lot of time in Photoshop.  I have a job where I hand in a lot of pictures every day.  Canon has great color.  Especially skin colors.  AF one on par with Sony.  Sharpness and image quality are on par with Leica.  What many brands are today.  The way you work with the cameras is more different.  I just switched to Canon and have been using Nikon for the last 12 years.  I use the Leica M as a small "invisible" camera.  But it has become too expensive to keep up with new models. And low light is not very good.  (Leica MD) So I use it less and less.  So it becomes more and more a holiday and leisure camera.  Leica Q could also be used but unfortunately I do not have it.  Unfortunately, CL did not turn out to be what I was hoping for.

But it's important for me to say that Canon, Sony and Nikon are great cameras - also for my use - it could well have been all off tem.  They would all be able to solve my task.
