Some of us actually use that M for some serious work and changing battery while the M is mounted on a tripod is a real pain in the ass. Also ever tried the battery release of the SL2/-S or Q2? The first big change was of course when moving to digital (M8), when the back was changed completely and the wind and rewind levers left out. Then the framline illumination window was removed and now the removable baseplate. If I may make an obvious suggestion - if you start out with a battery charged up to 100% you will significantly reduce the need to change batts when the M is mounted on a tripod... The more people say they like the 'specialness' of a Leica M the more they applaud it becoming ordinary. I predicted the M11 would also blow smoke, and so it seems. roverover Posted December 9, 2021 Share #36 Posted December 9, 2021 I applaud the new models and changes coming down the pipeline now and in the future and will be curious about the changes that Leica deems appropriate for 1 of their most popular and famous products. I feel that Leica knows what they are doing and regard their heritage highly. I happen to like the look of the bottom plate, which is why i favor the Silver models, but if it disappears as suggested, it might make the M10R the highest resolution "old Style" M body in the market and who knows, their values could actually go way up if users decide they still want them after the M11 comes out sans a bottom plate. I may buy an M11 model when they are available but I am planning to KEEP my M10R as i really like the form and function of this particular M camera for my uses. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
