Sorry, I'm used to French forums with few people 😉 and ... I'm more busy taking pictures than discussing them learnedly.
For those who can't find the flickr group it's here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/14783460@N20/pool/

Otherwise I also offer you an interesting manipulation with your keyboard: type #pixii or #newpixii or #teampixii on FB, instagram, flickr... Try it, it's effective and it even works in other cases
I repeat that I don't have the most beautiful camera in the world but that it does not look out of place in a flow with 907x and M Monochrom (and that I have been a digital M user since the M8 (8.u/9 /240/ 10) with regularly used and comparable archives That's all!On the other hand, what I don't appreciate as a syndrome is that of omnipotence.
Regarding DNG in native mode, the device (with a dedicated DSP, I can't say more) is currently under patent. You will soon know more.
I repeat my offer to provide mono and sRGB DNG by wetransfer to the curious who do not intervene just to slander. I did it on French-speaking forums, I won friends there.

I did not dispute that it is a very good camera  capable of great images - as it should be at the very top of the price range of APS-C cameras. (Leica and other brands have proven that APS-C is very close  in image quality to full-frame)
I just pointed out a few things that a prospective buyer should consider - limited vintage mount, concerns about long-term sevicability, etc.  That is what this thread addresses, see the title.

BTW, the DNG format cannot be patented - it is open source by Adobe. Nor can  a DNG be sRGB, it only acquires a color space on conversion in your computer.

Ah and sorry also for the duplicate above.
I'm a little surprised by the reception made on the forum and the feeling of suspicion of some. I hope it's just behind the keyboard that it reveals itself and not in your real life.
I've been following alternative projects for a long time, I've followed Konost, Zeiss, Zenith... but the one I've had in my hands is Pixii. I did not consider buying the first model because I found the sensor limited (11 Mo) with however a very ... elegant colorimetry). I still had the opportunity to appreciate its compactness, its weight (450g I believe), its ergonomics with the absence of a display screen (remote on the smartphone) and the great sharpness of its rangefinder. With the new recognized Sony sensor (26 Mo BSI, model 1571) and the signal processing talent of its designers, I took action... It's quite simple.
It presents some other very useful elements but if it is to mock without having the slightest information ... I can also think that this forum is read by curious people who like to access information and answer questions by themselves .
For example: the modular design makes it possible to change elements such as: the processor, the memory or the sensor with a maximum immobilization of one day. Owners of the Pixii 1st model thus benefited from the sensor upgrade at a very preferential rate. In the second half of 2022 a new processor could be implanted, I am on the waiting list. For 2023 the roadmap provides for a new sensor. It's one thing to talk about sustainable development, it's another thing to implement it in terms of engineering. Sustainability ...
Another example, the sensor works with 2 modes: Fine (5 fps/s) / Fast (30 fps/s) I'll let you guess the advantage. At least for me, who regularly works in theaters equipped with different generations of LEDs: never banding and of course never rolling shutter in Fast mode.

Here we can also talk about dynamics and colorimetry (even if Saint Thomas does not believe in DXO measurement) there are some images on the Flickr group and curves that we can still take the trouble to look at in the DXO article ... I put the two graphs below, not for the controversy, but because they illustrate well what I feel while manipulating the DNGs in LR Classic. I'm not saying it's better, I'm just saying that I really appreciate the rendering (I didn't tell you about the "camera" LUTs and their recovery by Adobe by the way!) and the processing latitudes offered in Bayer mode as in Monochrom mode.

In short ... I use this camera with pleasure, I have no interest with Pixii but the nonsense and other fakes seen about it lead me behind this keyboard while, once again, I am more comfortable behind a viewfinder.

The process to obtain monochrom DNGs  is patent pending.Ok ???

Apologize my english langage, i do my best !

DNG is open source... I think there is a misunderstanding here.

Yes. The problem with the M mount is that you can only use rangefinder coupled lenses effectively. A factor to consider with any M mount camera.  The reason that Leica has offered Visoflexes for many years, both optical and EVF

Indeed and the problem of L lenses is they cannot be used on rangefinders ;). The whole idea around Pixii is to make a modern rangefinder and for that i'm not sure there are other relevant solutions than M lenses.

Ok. That is a choice but still something to consider for a potential buyer. The Pixii is still not quite at Leica M level for viewfinder intrusion of larger lenses like our Noctiluxes My beloved Summilux 24 would be problematic too. Thus one must consider the price difference to an M11 and if desired EVF related to use. At the present sensor quality of all high-end cameras I think the functionality takes precedent over the quality of the output. Personally I go for versatility. As I recall you went for a modified Sony.

Yes but i find the concept interesting. I see the Pixii as a modern R-D1 more so than another M-like camera. Price wise Pixii made the same mistake as Cosina/Epson by launching the first model at too high a price point but now Pixii stands at the same stage as the R-D1s compared to the R-D1 more or less.

Yes, but with a better sensor by far I would still prefer the RD1 viewfinder though.

Sure but making a 1:1 VF seems difficult in a small package. I'm no techie though...
