But I think it might be a transitional camera nonetheless, given some newer but perhaps not fully realized concepts and features. Time will tell. I traded my M10 for an M10–R just before the M11 was released. I’m typically not an early adopter, and I found the M10-R to be a good complement to my M10 Monochrom (though never used together). I didn’t intend to get the BP version, but the dealer made me a trade offer that I couldn’t refuse. I’m not obsessed with it or other gear; tools to be used. But very capable and enjoyable tools. Chimichurri Posted November 4, 2022 Share #366 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) For me, rangefinders are so basic that the M11 really wouldn’t give me that much of a jump, i guess maybe the battery life, but I just carry a spare battery. The M10R 40MP sensor is amazing. I know the meter is different and all that, but, I think once you have an M that you love you can pretty much stop worrying about camera bodies. At least that’s the case for me. I absolutely adore my M10R BP. A year with it now. I still feel just as excited to shoot it as when I got it. Besides the month with the M10P, this is really my first Leica. Edited November 4, 2022 by Chimichurri

I feel the same way, but for me it's my M10, and it's been mine for three years I think. I neither need nor want larger images than 24mp. I could upgrade it, but why..... Given a choice between a shiny black camera, and one more like the Leica cameras from my past, I have no desire for "shiny". If I didn’t have the sensor issue with the M10P I would still be shooting it. That was supposed to be my forever camera. But I got rid of it quickly and just bought a new one. I do like the feeling of the black paint better than the black chrome. Feels like you’re holding pure brass. I'm scared to ask - where can I read about this sensor issue with an M10P ? How common is/was it? Pure brass - I wonder how the M would sell, if it was available in pure brass? I guess it would need a protective coating, so the brass didn't "fade". For me though, I would pay the most to get an M that looked like my old M film cameras, however they were made. I don't like "shiny".

How common is/was it? I don’t know how often the 24MP sensor had that issue. It was a vertical line at 100 and 200ISO that at first appeared to be a pixel mapping issue but it wasn’t and needed a sensor replacement. 2 year old M10P I noticed it after about 2 or 3 weeks of ownership so I got rid of it. It was my first ever Leica so it was unexpected. I decided to stop the used Leica thing and just buy new. And the new one was the M10R. Oh I found a photo of it. That broke my heart so I don’t want to talk about it much. Welcome, dear visitor! jakontil Posted November 5, 2022 Share #376 Posted November 5, 2022 The more common issue i found during owning a few years of M10 from m10, m10p and d were the sticky iso dials

Maybe I need new glasses? Not that image. It’s hard to show here. I would have to dig up a sample photo. But I sent this to Leica. I had to alter it so it can be seen here. anyway. Every image would have a line from top to bottom like this I sent them the raw and they said I needed a new sensor. It came up at ISO100 and 200. So I assumed it would just get worse. also a few times a photo would like something I can only describe as like a tearing. Not sure how else to put it. A small black tear or spot. But it didn’t look like a spot. It literally looked as if the image was tearing a little. I saw it a few times. Wouldn’t happen all the time. Welcome, dear visitor! Not the dial that stick physically but regardless any iso u set, it wont matter, it will stay with a designated iso value
