Yes, I can confirm that too. The image quality of both cameras is very high.
Here's the proof:

Honestly. Besides some differences that are pulling hairs, the difference in IQ between the M10R and the M11 is the M11 gives you a bigger file.

in terms of every day use, there is no significant difference.

Interesting. I`ve never had such experiences with (new) Leica products or with their service - lucky me.

Meanwhile I have my copy too, everything works absolutely perfect. I think this is the most beautiful digital M, which has been produced up to date.

@StevenHave you asked for a replacement ? Otherwise good luck to you for getting the camera fixed quick and properly !

The day before I received my camera, I went out and bought some sandpaper... Here goes nothing haha!

With how careful I am with my cameras, it would take me 100 - 200 years to patina it! I needs the sandpaper!

@Wonzo @Flu How about your BP M10R? Any shutter issues?

Mine works perfectly after 7 months. Should I be paranoid? Is this a ticking time bomb or what?

Good. Really glad to hear it. Mine too is buttery smooth.

After 7 months my hands itch when I’m at work. I just want to take pictures. Of anything. The other day I went out quickly and my wife said it was weird to see me without my camera. It’s always with me. I’ve never had such an experience before.

The feel of the black paint over the brass. Never hear people talk about this. It feels really good. Like you have a classic chunk of brass in your hands. Definitely not the same feel as the black chrome.

can’t imagine what the M11 in aluminum feels like but, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t like it.

M10R Black Paint. The ultimate Leica M.

Just rattled off 10 shots on it to check. All good and no issues so far.

BTW: the silver M11 is brass, but won't patina the same due to silver coatings.

10 months into working with M10-R BP. Mine was one of the first that came to EU. Loving every second of the time spent with it and still not considering the M11 (although that usb-c charging from a powerbank is mighty mighty temping when going off the grid for a week).

I sold my M11 to finance the purchase of my M10-R BP!
Did not like the delayed shutter of the M11.
Now I have a real M again.
So try before buy 🙂

All black paint items have gained around 20% since this auction earlier this month. The 50 E46 was priced in average at 5600 and it just went to 7K now.

There is black paint madness on the market.

Thankfully, i managed to purchase my black paint dream a couple days before the auction. It’s being delivered this Monday. Can’t wait to see it in real life.

The black paint madness continues.
Nearly impossible to find a 50mm Summilux BP under 10k€ nowadays.
Collectors and investors are filling up their cabinets I assume 😞

I was debating for M10-R vs M11 for my first M camera.  Initially thought I will go for a M11, but I cannot wait for months.  Thus I decide to settle for a M10-R black chrome, and found a deal on eBay.   Upon unboxing brand new M10-R black chrome, I discovered that the it was a Black Paint instead.   Cannot believe it.

Have owned the M10-R black paint for 2 weeks, and loving every single moment with it.

Wow!  And I thought I got a good deal from where someone returned their newly purchased m10r bp for a m11.  You've come out way ahead...Great!  Enjoy your new beautiful camera.

First ding on my M10R Black Paint. Serves me right for cycling with it around my neck (which I have done untold times before) and coming a cropper trying to ride up a kerb which wouldn't play ball. This time only the baseplate was scratched. It felt quite rough, too, so I smoothed it down with a little emery board. I think I got away with it. Oh well, we live and learn. Maybe 😉

The M10-R Black Paint arrived on the scene at a bad time for my budget, so, I have missed the opportunity to buy a new one. To get a small taste of the haptic experience of black paint over brass, I did manage to acquire a black-painted Type 240 base plate, which fits my 246, that I found in the Accessories pages of a Leica dealer’s website. Plus, my Thambar-M 90mm lens has that beautiful black lacquer finish. Indeed, it was handling the Thambar-M which introduced me to the feel of the BP finish.

Perhaps, someday, I will have an opportunity to acquire a pre-loved M10-R BP.
