tongue very much in cheek but this is one of the only places I've seen where folks buy expensive things for what they won't do..

Morning all
I have a M262 and would like to add a Q of some sort to my collection. On the whole, I prefer black and white. What I wanted to check with you sage folk is whether the Q2 renders excellent black and white photos (with the pertinent setting) or whether the Q2M is really streets ahead? Also, simply put from an even simpler mind, does the Q2M render black and white better than the Q2 does colour (because of the sensor differences)?
Thanks a lot.

Ben

Rather than choose A or B…  🤦‍♂️😂 I love these cameras. 👌

To me, the choice really comes down to the environment you shoot.  If it’s outdoor, bright light, low iso shooting, there won’t be much difference.  But, if your b&w is mostly, in dark rooms, outside at night or in the shadows, that is where the monochrome excels.

I wouldn’t make my choice with examples in bright light and less than 6400.  MY b&w’s are mostly at 10,000 and above.  To me, that is when there is no comparison….

+1

I’ve owned both cameras ( twice ).
You absolutely “nailed” the primary practical difference between the two.

Based on personal use of both cameras at lower ISO ( at or below 3200 or max 6400) I would challenge anyone to tell the difference between the two, assuming of course that one is applying appropriate post processing techniques to the respective files.
