s/n suggests is an ASPH of the first version (apart the "aspherical") https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/35mm_f/1.4_ASPH_Summilux-M

(it superseded the previous "non asph" , even is there is an intermixing of serials at the end of unasph and start of asph)

I am very unsure. According to Thiele the "ASPHERCAL" had numbers between 3459701 to 3671030 while the "ASPH." started only at 3704801. So the given serial number 36602xx points to an "ASPHERICAL". But you cannot really rely on those numbers in Thiele for "very close games".

Therefore the easy information about what is written on the lenses front would be very useful - and much more decisive than the serial number.

Very nice lens indeed, a bit on the heavy side in the titanium coated (yes I was fan of the finish by then) 11859 - Ti version serial 3,71x,xxx I replaced later with one black anodized,

like yours.

one of the best 35mm that I own/use

ex-mine on ex-M6, so long ago !

Thanks...yes its a weighty item and haven't used it in years.

Just getting back into Leica and dusted off my M6 and Lux and looking forward to using it again after a long time being in its box.🙈

Must admit it has one of the best focus feel on all of my lenses.

Best

Andy

Is the same model I have, to me is the best M lens I've ever had (among the many lenses I had). I also had the FLE, but sold it and kept this one because I much more love its signature. I had it 6 bit coded about ten years ago by Will van Manen of Kamera-Service.  The only lens I'm sure I will never sell.
