Hadn't you noticed I had four hands Pete! (not sure why you should claim £5 though? Is this some bet from the mists of time forgotten?)

The "I claim my £5" is a (somewhat obscure) reference to Lobby Lud but it's one that I hear used from time to time.

Pete.

Hi There

Since it's in the back of your mind . . .

Well, as a tester (sometimes alpha, always beta), of course I'm not independent of the mothership, added to which, my primary job is to report problems to Leica (rather than to the rest of the world). On the other hand, they never ever tell me what to write, and never have, and I am not, and never have been paid as a tester - added to which I don't earn any money from the reviews (either here or on my website - no ads, no clickthrough). On the other hand I do ask Leica to read through my articles to check I'm not getting anything wrong and very occasionally they'll pick up on something.

On the other hand, you can be sure that I'll never say something which I don't believe to be the case and I'll never leave something out because it's detrimental - and Leica wouldn't want me to either. I also don't aim to make money from my photography (except for the occasional wedding) - most professional work I take on is for charities and I don't charge for that, which frees me up to some extent.

Sean Reid is a big mate, and we often discuss kit and ideas.

Does that help?

probably not 😂

Sometimes good to write it down though!

All the best

Admirable all the work you seem to be doing for free except for few occassional weddings, you must be charging some serious money for all that Leica bokeh 😄.

Unless you married very rich woman [a] you won the jackpot on lottery, [b] worked in lucrative profession and retired on generous pension or [c] inherited Donald MacScrooge's pile.

Jono,

The reviews you write are  balanced and are, from my perspective, free of bias. I appreciate it when you refrain from evaluating features outside your wheelhouse. The photographs you include do well to demonstrate the qualities you are writing about. I appreciate the time and effort you put into these reviews. Thank you very much.

Hi There

I enjoy it and so I don't want to muddle it up with 'real' work, If I was being paid, then I would have obligations (which I don't). If I don't want to write/test/whatever, then I really don't have to. Weddings are different - if I agree to do it, then I have obligations, so I charge for it.

and the answer is

[d] I'm still working in a software business I started in 1987

and the reason I have the time is that I don't play golf or sail a boat!

My Pleasure

If you look at the reports on my website (https://www.slack.co.uk) there is normally a link to sample images near the bottom.

All the best (and no worries about the typo)

Hm, I am absolutely amazed. May I ask if there is a post processing done on these images? Or is that srunning quality due to the R model of the M10? Or both?

I just loked at my recent images with the 35mm Summilux on the M10 and spontaneously its not the same 🤔

I am actually on my iPad and will have to go to my Mac later on. Maybe that reverses then all my first impressions 😀

Hmm, well, I always post process images, I see the DNG files as a Digital Negative. But most of them don't have a great deal of processing (I'm too lazy), all done within Lightroom and mostly less than a minute or so. . . . . . the M10-R sensor is lovely, and so is the 35 APO!
