Wonderful :-).  Are you finding a lot of difference between the 10 and 10R other than the resolution Jayne?  And has the extra resolution been useful?

I love the R Vikas, I didn't think I would appreciate the extra resolution but it does come in handy for cropping/and in turn printing, I have noticed a small difference in the shadows and highlight recovery but really need more shooting opportunity to explore that further.  That's not to say that had I not fallen in the river and written off my M10 I would have rushed to buy one, but trading in my corroded M9 made it possible and for that I'm grateful.  Hope you and your family are keeping safe and well Vikas, exciting day for you in Washington DC.

Beautiful picture.  Sounds like I should look for a nice stream to fall into with my 10 😆.  In the meanwhile I'll post a picture from this afternoon over on the M10 thread.

Turnng Jerusalem into Tel Aviv?  We've embarked on our own "big dig."  The plan is to augment the never lovely entrance to the city, which has recently gained a fast rail link to the airport and the coast, plus a light rail line that arches over the highway as it makes a big turn, supported by a Calatrava pylon, with a great many big commercial buildings.  In the architects'/politicians'/developers' vision, seen in this poster, you can still see the arc of the light rail, (the pylon has been obscured), but all the rest is tower blocks for high tech and industry: The title of the poster says "entrance district of The City".

And we are well along on this path:

Great image which has got me thinking - is using R lenses with the current new models the way to go in terms of attaining M9 like rendering?

I don't think the type of lens makes much difference to rendering.   I am obliged to use Rs to get closer than 0.8cm with small setups. The Rs are rather clunky in an M - nothing like the Summicron 40mm which is a joy to use. One day I hope to find a way to shim a 40 closer. I haven't shot at infinity for many years.

Rendering has a lot to do with focus. I cheat and stack shots at f2.8 to just before the far edge of subjects. There is an added advantage of being able to use low light from a window without noise.

Thanks for letting us know, I didn't appreciate it was stacked etc.

So I recently, and somewhat hesitantly, swapped my lovely Fuji X gear for a Leica M10 R. The Fuji gear was great and I'd had 4 happy and productive years with it.

I've not been sure I've done the right thing until about a week in when I took this picture .....

I don't know how well it will show up here but on the original the definition of the minor branches is exquisite and to my eye seems like something that the Fuji could not achieve (or any twenty something mega pixel camera)? This was taken on the 35 Summicron. I've since added a 50 Summilux and have a 21 F3.4 on order.

Should be a good Christmas after all. I feel like I've made a good choice 🙂

Best, David

Wonderful soft colors. Welcome to Leica, David.
