I just received a 90mm Elmarit 11807, it has some spotting inside but cant understand what it is either condensation, fungus and I’m worries that it’s going to worsen overtime what do you guys think?

Difficult to be certain from the picture you posted but it just looks like dust to me and nothing to worry about.  I don't see anything that looks like it might be fungus or separation but if it would put your mind at rest you could send it for a CLA.

(There could only be condensation if the lens had been at, say, room temperature and then suddenly plunged into a much colder environment so that water vapour in the air condensed and formed droplets on cold surfaces.  If that were to have happened then it's probably down to something you've done because the condensation will evapourate when the lens returns to room temperature.  Even then, the condensed water droplets won't do damage other than perhaps leaving a tiny deposit on glass surfaces but that's unlikely.)

Rule 1: Shining a strong light through a lens can make all sorts of innocent things look like nasties.  It's an old buyer's technique for getting the purchase price down.

Pete.

This lens was built from 1964 to 1974. That is almost 50 years ago.  50 years ago I was in a better condition too. CLA means Clean, Lubricate and Adjust and can be done by Leica but doesn't must be done by them.

The depicted lens is significantly younger... I'd say from 1992 around.. anyway me too think that it's just dust, no damage, CLA advisable.

Is it worth to sent back and get one without this? (the price is the same just need to pay for sending it back to germany)

It's worth it only if you're not happy with the dust in your lens and you want different dust.

Hahahah, I brought it to a specialist and she told me it was the finest dust she had ever seen.

Btw does anyone know where i could buy a red dot, as the one on this lens seems to have fallen off?

I don't know where you are based but, as Uli mentioned above, Leica Dealers do seem to keep some in stock as they do - apparently - tend to fall off. I had one go AWOL from a lens and happened to mention it whilst visiting an official London Dealer and they took the lens away and fitted a replacement (free of charge) while I waited.

Philip.

Thank you all for the responses, i will probably avoid doing a CLA as it might cost half of the lens price. To be fair, the outside had been rought up but i guess the inside isn't has bad as i thought. I will be going to Leica in Paris to replace the red dot because it bothers too much, i just hope they dont ask me 100 € for that. 😂

Belongs to this batch (first digit of s/n is surely "3" 😉:

3647976   3648975 90mm f/2.8  Elmarit-M   1994   1000

In case they ask you some exaggerate cost for the red dot... I have 5 or 6 spares like this one and no problem to send you one by ordinary postage if you send me a PM with your home address...

(dunno if "original" :  anyway, right dimensions, easy to glue on...color not EXACTLY the same as in my Elmarit M 90 as you can see... 😉)
