Good To Be Retired Posted February 29, 2020 Share #1 Posted February 29, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a B & W on it now, but I had to turn down the OD of the filter ring a bit to facilitate attachment/removal. Which of course leaves it a brass color. Does anyone know of a make/model of black clear or UV filter that will allow proper attachment of the factory hood? mdemeyer Posted March 1, 2020 Share #11 Posted March 1, 2020 (edited) If this is the 49mm version, Leica made a special filter for it. The standard Leica filter vignettes. You can find them used. Long since out of production. Sorry I don’t remember the part number... Edited March 1, 2020 by mdemeyer

MATE "I" in E55 version never comes with hood, as Leica stated that the lens has built-in "hood", lens retracted inside in 50mm setting. Side note, this will flare (on mine when strong light is just outside the frame) at 50 setting even if I use the 12592 hood (for 2.8/21mm asph.), even worse flares with filter on. I use Minolta E55 filters green GO or yellow Y52 with Monochrom.

I stand corrected, but is it different than the B+W thin filters? fleabB*y has one for sale. Appears thinner than the typical filter and the inner thread is blocked by a ring. Seems to have been intended for the Digilux 1 as well. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! lct Posted March 5, 2020 Share #19 Posted March 5, 2020 Not sure to understand the problem. Couple of facts to begin with: 1. This topic is about the MATE v1 (E55), not v2. 2. The MATE v1 has a built-in hood. 3. The 12592 accessory hood can be used on the MATE v1 if needed. 5. E55 Leica filters can be used without hood on the MATE v1. 6. Same filters can be used together with the 12592 hood on the MATE v1. What is exactly the problem then? Incompatibility of third party filters? Just curious.
