It's not an absolute point of view, but rather a subjective and personal feeling. I am no pro at all, so my words aren't worth a dime. But to my eyes, the dynamic range of this camera is shifted down way too much. I haven't seen a single file with acceptable highlights AND lowlights. All what I've seen are acceptable/good lowlights. In short, I'm not impressed at all with the files produced. Had both previous Mono iterations, and feel these M10M files are even more "in a corner" than the 246 ones. So I 'll be waiting to see once there is a proper camera profile in LR, or a firmware release... In the meantime, the unit I ordered back in September is available in Paris 🙂

Attached is my very first simple pic back in the days with one of the first M9M. There is no correction or very little, and the JPG export does not do any justice. But blacks are black, whites are white, and everything in between is detailed. I did not see that in the files I've seen so fare from M10M.

  • jaapv changed the title to M10 Monochrom availability {merged}

I received mine yesterday in the US. It's a delight to have a Monochrom with the same form factor as the M10. I'll post pictures when I've had it out on the streets for more than just last night's freezing rush job running around my work neighborhood before the commute home.

One doesn't want to post photos from an $8300 camera and have the immediate reaction be, you spent all that money and that's what you came up with? Why my iPhone...

It is written in the stars that the ETA for mine is the end of February. I have been quoted AUD13,250 by my dealer who seems always to be

slightly more competitive with his Leica pricing than any other Australian dealer or Boutique. I suspect I will never post a photo from it on the

Forum for fear of being torn to shreds by the lurking critic pack and left a broken woman.

I pre-ordered from Leica Store Miami on Sunday. Called them today to get a rough estimate and was told it could be 4 to 8 months. Does that sound right?

That sounds too long a wait. Normally i would recommend buying at your local dealer, but in this case I would check Leica's online store instead. Based on experience with SL2, they should have some in stock every couple of days.

Thats seems awfully long, as Leica USA had extra bodies available on their corporate website on Monday or Tuesday until they were snapped up. Mine arrives tomorrow from Leica Boston. I also asked to choose a serial number and they gave me a range from 550 32.. to 550 76.. so if the sequence means anything at all there have been quite a few bodies made. Yet again these serial numbers are often not all used on one body. I would call around to other dealers. I think John at Westborn Camera in MI has another one coming unsold.

Call around to smaller dealers (listed on the Leica site). Do it soon to possibly get one of the early batch, as things might slow dramatically after that, as occurred with the SL2 release.  Leica Miami is so popular that they might receive more bodies than others, but also have a substantial wait list, while some small dealers might have scant supply but little or  no list.

I think when you order at the time of release, there is a "gift" or discount. I got a spare battery thrown in as part of deal when I requested a battery.

Good luck with new camera Dee...looks great, but I'm not allowing myself.  You have the skills.

Don't know where your second paragraph came from...you are always well received, and respected, with your delicious pictures.

Cheer up, I suspect came from  "bushfire" and drought, depression.

A lot of us think of you.
