otto.f Posted December 13, 2019 Share #6  Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) Actually not ridiculously priced compared to the price for a normal set like this and for an edition of only 250 copies. Alas I’m not attached to Hodinkee, never heard of it until now, but perhaps that was the purpose, to bring this brand under attention. Would a Hermès edition be more expensive? Or has Hermès said goodbye to Leica? Something for the tabloids? Edited December 13, 2019 by otto.f

jaapv Posted December 13, 2019 Share #10  Posted December 13, 2019 Never heard of Hodinkee either. It appears to be a watch retailer. Hermes took their leave from Leica around 2012 - with a special edition...  2 hours ago, otto.f said: Actually not ridiculously priced compared to the price for a normal set like this and for an edition of only 250 copies. It's only $1,500 more than the silver versions as is. I would totally rock this but I have to stick to my stealthy black version for the work I do. My only criticism would be the black surround on the back instead a nice dark grey color.

It really looks quite ugly together with the gray leather, but melts in nicely with the black leather on a standard silver body.
maxfairclough Posted December 16, 2019 Share #14  Posted December 16, 2019 The grey leather reminds me of my grandmothers old leather couch. Not pleasant. In my opinion anyway.

John Miranda Posted December 17, 2019 Share #17 Â Posted December 17, 2019 I really like the aesthetic of Leica, but worry when the infatuation with the equipment as a material thing far exceeds the result of photography.

In that regard the Summilux 90/1.5 is a more serious worry than this set which would be a perfect Christmas gift for Queen Elizabeth
