Posted in the February Barnack Challenge, Silver. By the Silvery Moon the ISS was making a transit. Okay, I get that this is not an award winning photo, but I've been attempting for months to make a photo of the International Space Station in front of the moon and today I did it, mostly. It is a huge technical challenge and will be much better at night the next time there is a transit near where I live. In the daytime the contrast with the moon in the sky is very low and I made the mistake of under-exposing the image because I zoomed the spotting scope and didn't check my exposure after doing so. I used the iPhone App - ISS Transit Finder. I'm certain I can do better in the future. Leica Q2, 1/2000, f/2, ISO 100, medium speed continuous, Swarovski ATS-80 Spotting scope and Leica Q Digiscoping adapter, at 40X magnification, Manual focus, on tripod,

2019 my wife I had the opportunity to travel to Japan and cruise from Southampton to Melbourne. I am just getting around to processing some of my photos. The first is of colourful origami Peace Cranes at the Nagasaki Peace Park. The second is of export cars on the Le Port dock, Reunion Island.

Dyke Marsh Alexandria Virginia - Resident Bald Eagles. I arrived just as the eagles were coming in for a landing. I grabbed my camera and took a few pictures. The birds were a fair distance away, but to my surprise, at 100% crop, there was a decent amount of detail.
