Todavía no he decidido nada ..., sigo buscando y leyendo para sacar conclusiones.

The only decision I made is that I already ordered to buy the M to T adapter, which I will use with any of the cameras I choose.

I chose the Leica MT 18771 (new) paying € 330, it is the cheapest price I could get and, apparently, from what I read, it is the only one that can guarantee a good performance.

@lct. The autofocus of the T and TL, how slow are they, looks like Leica X1 or X2? .....

About T and TL  :

- AF is really bad.
- No focus peaking also makes them bad candidates for M lenses.
- Slow operations will drive you crazy.
Don’t buy them.

Used TL2 is only a tad more expensive. However CL is an even better camera.
worth the extra cash.

You can buy super cheap CL batteries. So no need for USB direct charging.

From what I am reading, CL consumes a lot of battery. So you need several spare units.

I find that no camera is more beautiful that the TL/TL2.  The press of the shutter is sublime!  The construction is so very solid.  It is a wonderful conversation starter, too!

The CL's main advantages are the built in viewfinder and the faster autofocus.  Still, the TL2 is significantly improved (but not as quick as the CL).

Whether you want touch screen menu or the more traditional CL interface is a subjective decision. Image quality is so close that I would consider them to be identical.

If the TL2 is discontinued, I will be disappointed. Rather, I'd simply wish that Leica would find a way to add a built-in EVF. (I'm sure the AF speed improvement could be implemented to match the CL's).

For shootings of about 500 pics i need two batteries generally. Now i use cheap replacement batteries so no problem at all.

I went for a TL2 over CL mainly for the product design, it is a joy to use and makes me want to take it everywhere. So far I've been happy using the LCD only for composing images, touchscreen very intuitive to use. Internal storage and USB charging also nice to have.

If the T is better or similar to the Leica X1, X2 and XVario (which I have tried) and the TL2 exceeds the previous ones, that already suits me.
This is what I have seen out there:

As for getting back to the speed, the T is more responsive and faster to auto focus than the Leica X1, X2 and X-Vario. It is the fastest German-made Leica to date, and for me it is about the equivalent of Sony NEX or E-M5, a little bit faster than the Sony A7. So while not up there with an E-M1 it is very close to everything else when using the 18-56 Zoom (the only native lens I had to try).

No problem catching this racing horse with the T and the 18-56 zoom. Click for larger!

Surprising indeed. You mean T or TL2?

Have you made a decision?

I also have used and own both.

The CL has that better and integrated EVF, and faster AF.

On the other side the T/TL/TL2 have something special in regards of build and user interface.

For some reason I enjoy(d) using the TL2 a lot. The big display is cool too, and the UI very intuitive.

I would recommend to take both in hands and check them out. T or TL have slower AF than TL2 - so these would be only an option if you dont care about AF speed.

Even the T was still a little faster than the X2 and X-Vario.

The T line feels like a small xd1 (but faster).

I got the CL + 18tl...nice but too much interface menu options, with the 18mm, image wise its excellent ,some of my M lenses and screwmount lenses had issues despite paying through the nose for adapters. I got a T (701) boxed for a great price and the CL stayed home, interface is quick, touch screen and two buttons is minimal and it loves my M and ltm glass. I got the EVF and don’t need anymore focus assist to get decent results..My next camera if its not another film leica will be the tl and then the tl2. No more CL, or maybe a leica Standard. Happy Shooting.

Happy Shooting

Thank you for expressing your opinions.

Having T, I would not choose TL, the performance differences between the two cameras are minimal, unless you are interested in the Titaneo color only in T. In TL, TL2 does not exist that color.

I think jumping directly to TL2 would be more correct.

Looking at Bay, good prices appear on TL2 (new).

Thank you for all the information received.

Both cameras share similar things, but in the end my decision leaned towards TL2.

Personally, what I have most valued has been the design of the TL2 (I have chosen the silver color) and that is what has most inclined the balance.

To buy, it is worth wasting time on the Internet, since there is a big difference in the prices of one place or another.

Mine on Ebay (Germany) has cost € 1,450 + € 25 shipping. Only the body (new and in sealed box).

The handling of the functions of the touch screen, I am very accustomed to handle tablec and mobile phones, so I see no problem.

For now, I will use it with my M + lenses and the adapter.

Later I will buy the Visoflex, with which I will have GPS and possibly the 18-56 mm Elmar Vario lens.

I have both and use slightly differently

The TL2 has 18 or 23 more or less permanently attached depending on pocket size and is a go anywhere

The CL comes out on 'photo trips' so to speak and normally has 18-56 or vintage  lens on as I find manual focus easier with the EVF

The 11-23 and 35 spend a lot of time home alone due to size and weight, just come out on special occasions

There is something about the TL2 however

Thank you very much for your kindness in responding and giving me information.

At this moment I am reading the TL2 manual and doing tests and practicing with the camera to facilitate the handling of their menus and verify their answers.

The first thing I bought was the Leica M to T adapter, to practice with M lenses, until I received the 18-56 I bought.

Hello friends:
I already have most of the accessories that complement my recently acquired Leica TL2:

- Flexible glass screen protector (placed).
- Objective T 18-56.
- Gariz case (I would have liked black but they didn't have it and I took the dark brown).

With an image it looks better:

I like the Gariz case because it reveals an important part of the metal (aluminum) in the upper part of the chamber, leaving the same space left and right and that contrasts well with the leather of the case.

  • 2 weeks later...

Although I use a wrist strap I don't bother with a case on my TL2 as it 'feel' just right without, unlike the CL which seems to 'need' one, for my hands at least.

I really like the summicron 40mm too as it makes for a really compact pocketable package just a teeny bit bigger than the 18TL
