Very interested to see your excellent results with the Raynox 250.  I used to have the 150 for use on X-Vario (both long gone) so intrigued that the 250 screws direct onto the D-Lux 7.  Do you need to manual focus or is AF useable?  Any recommendations for optimum zoom settings etc?

Thanks Keith.
Of course AF is useable.
Recommendations for optimum zoom settings: thatˋs not very easy; it is different from motif to motif and I often use different settings for the same object and finalIy I choose the best one.

Thank you for the reply.  Have just placed an order - should be here by the weekend.  :)

The camera is normally fitted with a B+W UV filter and the JJC ALC-LX100 protective cap (which has the space to close fully over the filter when the camera is switched off) but I assume that will have to be removed before attaching the Raynox.  Anyway I shall soon find out and look forward to some insect hunting!

Apologies for hi-jacking the pictures thread.  Mea culpa.

Congratulation for your decision. In the meantime the D-Lux 7 with the Raynox DCR 250 is my favourite macro combination and I hope you ˋll have much fun with it too.

A really fast autofocus is essential with insects such as bees.
