My Mate 10 has been fantastic, but the charging port seems damaged as the cable will not hold in. I don't trust local mechanics to fiddle with it (bad past experiences), so now I have to tie a rubber band around the cable, pop the plug into the camera port and stretch the rubber band over the top of the phone!! Eventually it holds in but I don't feel it is reliable.

Following my camera gear philosophy, I have just ordered a P30 Pro. Need two of everything if you depend on it. Don't know when it will be delivered under present lockdown though.

Goldish NOT on menu

I always put food out for the birds but I wish this character didn't think the goldfish were on the menu.

I posted this partly because it is a good example of how useful the phone is sometimes. I was sitting in the conservatory and the heron landed on the garage roof. No chance to get another camera and I knew it would fly off instantly if it saw me but the Huawei P20 Pro took this through the conservatory window on about x4 zoom

Try carefully cleaning the inside of the charging port with a wooden/plastic toothpick or similar. They get full of pocket lint which stops the charger fully going in. It often looks like there's nothing there but a dig around cab remove a fair amount of detritus.
