But how this Nocti really can pop or give that 3D as shown in a lot photos in here is impressive and makes the Nocti very tempting anyway. Just for the effect in itself. However... and risking to be out of line 😉... I find the bokeh in this photo to be very swirly (circular or rounded in the corners) in a way that takes away too much attention from the main object in itself? Yeah, I know guys... bokeh is entirely subjective... ☺️ 11 hours ago, Stein K S said: I am not a 50 man really. Yeah, I know guys... bokeh is entirely subjective... ☺️ The "swirly effect" is most definitely a characteristic of this lens. I expect there is a way to capitalize on this in rare situations. Thanks for responding to my question.

Hi I just have to agree more than with just a ¨ like¨... Your ¨Oh man¨ comment is almost an understatement... This really hits the 3D spot more than I guess I have seen in any picture before! It all (focus, light, distance etc) comes so together to really express this effect. Thanks! Edited April 4, 2020 by Stein K S

And I bet, with more use and practice, this combo and I will be hitting the sweet spot more often. I find the bokeh in this photo to be very swirly (circular or rounded in the corners) in a way that takes away too much attention from the main object in itself? It was this “swirly” bokeh effect which ultimately pushed me to the 0.95 Noctilux, as opposed to the earlier f/1 version. I subsequently added the 1948 50 Summitar f/2 LTM, with 9 (?) blades. This lens has round “bokeh balls” when shot wide open, rather than hexagonal ones, and has the same weird swirly out of focus treatment - I bought it for fun, and it was cheap(ish). For general use, the 0.95 lens is better corrected, while still having a magical character, no discernible focus shift and is a fine all round 50mm lens.
