I don’t know whether this adds to the discussion but I’ve compared top views of the Q and Q2 and notice:

- the hot shoe has moved towards the on-off button

- the viewfinder has changed and moved away from the on-off button

- the zoom lock dial looks like that from the CL, so one can switch program by pressing the centre button

- the video button has disappeared.

My only other thought is whether viewfinder frame lines could be replaced by a viewfinder zoom, when framing at 50mm or 75mm?

Q2's US MSRP will be around $5995.
Q-P MSRP is $4995.
Q MSRP is $3995 now.

That Leica Ginza post nails it.
Leica Q-P in japan is ¥ 658,800.
their rumored price is around ¥ 800,000  refers to a 20% markup above the Q-P.
escapes me why someone just did a currency conversation in the earlier post.

Hmm... why are a lot of folks assuming the Q2 will cost more than the Q-P?

When the M10 came out, it cost LESS than the M240-P.
The M Monochrome currently costs $700 MORE than a M10.

The Q-P is a special edition with premium pricing.
Given Leica's recent pricing strategy, the Q2 should cost slightly more than a Q and less than a Q-P.

The Q2 image comes from Leica Rumors and the Q from Google.

I assume diopter adjustment is press and turn.

I anticipate single, continuous and movie drive mode will be selected via the programmable zoom lock button, as with the CL.

There is also a lever on the back of the shutter release button of unknown function:

My apologies as I meant to say “control dial” not “zoom lock button”.

I know, but who is nokishita, have they/he access to real Q2 samples or prototypes?

The logic of evolving the control dial to that of the CL, and consequent removal of single/continuous/movie buttons, leads me to believe this is an image of the Q2 and not a prototype or fake.  Time will tell...

Yes and that is what I mean by Control dial, akin to the CL.

That’s interesting. I do not own or have immediate access to a CL. How is that button used on that camera? Can you see how it would integrate well with the Q menu system? It’s fun to ponder these things and try and figure out what is likely the case. We’ll know for sure on Q2 day - March 6th. Just 11 days away.

I don’t have access to (and have not seen in the past) a Q menu but Jono Slack has a good description of the two programmable control dials (and FN button) on the CL, under the sub-heading “FN” in his review:

http://www.slack.co.uk/leica-cl.html

I have the two control dials on my CL programmed and set for focus magnification (when using an M lens) and exposure compensation.  When using an autofocus TL lens my two control dials control f-stop and exposure compensation.  All this makes the camera a delight to use, with WB or film style programmed through the rear FN button.

It appears Leica could introduce the Q2 with one control wheel and one rear FN button.  That makes sense as the lens is autofocus and f-stop is controlled on the lens, with a separate focus lock button. This would leave the control dial to manage exposure compensation or another programmed function. Likewise the programmable FN button.

I hope others will comment as I am not an expert on either camera
