MartinEB Posted August 6, 2019 Share #61 Posted August 6, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Seville is a wonderful city and the light can be particularly good. I have been several times and also to Granada and Córdoba. I am a great fan of Andalucia. When I saw this planned event I decided I definitely needed to join in - many thanks to the organisers. I have booked flights and a self catering apartment. I need to take things a bit more slowly because of Parkinson’s disease so have made arrangements most likely to work - will arrive earlier in the week and leave on the Monday. I have other personal distractions that have been getting in the way of things so have been even more out of the loop than normal. I shall look forward to meeting people there in October. Between now and then I am off to Sydney to meet a new grandson.

convexferret Posted August 8, 2019 Share #66 Posted August 8, 2019 (edited) Hi all. I've just stumbled across this thread, don't know how I missed it. I've never been to a one challenge but Tom and Pete might possibly remember me from Porto. I live just along the coast and so could happily wander across for a couple of days with my (vegan) better half. Are there any limits on the numbers and/or quality of participants? It will be great to see you and Emma, but it probably means you are not testing any new Leica equipment this autumn 😢. Please vote for dinner choices as i will be booking it next week.

Sandokan Posted October 6, 2019 Share #79 Posted October 6, 2019 Dear All, See you all later this week. In my defence - I signed upto arrange the dinner and lunch venue, but as the usual Master of Ceremonies is travelling to the US of A; I think I have to arrange it all. I will arrive on Thursday morning and am staying in Hotel Sacristia de Santa Anna. My number is: Plus41 seven-nine 770 9754 - it has not changed for 18 years. and I have WhatsApp, FaceTime, AppleMessaging, Threema and of course SMS. I have adjusted timings to reflect the geographical timezone that Seville is in, so if it sounds later than you are used to, do not worry as things happen later in Spain, including your body clock. We will meet at 13:00 (1pm) at Alameda5 https://goo.gl/maps/uB4Nf4XexjWVDDY57 at Plaza Chica which is near my hotel. I have not reserved anything there yet but will. Otherwise I will let you all know if there are any changes. Here I will collect the money for the One Challenge (€5 or 10?) and take note of your camera and lens choice. After lunch, you are on your own and you have:- To take not more than 36 photos within the space of 2 hours from the start of your first shot. You have to use only one ISO speed and one lens (or fixed focal length on a zoom); so only variables are shutter speed and aperture. If you are going to use a filter, you have to declare it before hand (does that include colour filters for B&W cameras?). Either the camera or the lens (or both) must be from Leica. We shall meet at 21:00 (9pm) at El Traga de San Francisco where hopefully we can sit on the plaza in the open air. https://goo.gl/maps/5QZmgA29bVRgfQN18 Pl. de S. Francisco, 5, 41004 Sevilla, Spain Here we have the €40 menu - pre ordered as follows. For this, please pay me the cash directly as I will settle up with the restaurant. Any items ordered which are extra to the menu must be paid by yourselves. Andy has usually been burdened with all unsettled bills in the past. Welcome, dear visitor!
