Would be of interest for me, if there was an internal stabilizer in the camera and this working together with the built in one in the native Leica lenses in addition too. And if there was a built in stacking mode - which the SL does not have. and if there is a possibility either to use my  3 Canon macro lenses together with the camera, either with the Novoflex EF - SL adapter or with a new one from Pana.   In this case I might change from SL to the Pana with high resolution .

That's a long way to go for 1min & 7secs of promotional video!  Looks to be very similar to the SL size-wise so most likely will not be on my shopping list.

Even  bulkier as far as I can see on that video.

Sigma promised to make an EF-to-L adapter. They make a highly-rated EF-to-Sony adapter, so their L-mount adapter should be quite good.

Bulkier than the SL? Hard to believe. Looks slightly smaller to me. Same minimal size reduction as that of the SL2 i suspect. The latter will have some in-body image stabilization hopefully but i don't hold by breath.

Well, it must be the size of his face then - he seems to disappear behind the camera.

1. Looks like Panasonic's reveal will be at the end of January

https://www.slrumors.com/category/rumors/

2. A bit of new info on the camera(s): rugged, big, professional. A hint near the end of Panasonic digital guts in Leicas.

I'll be at CES next week, and will stop by the Panasonic booth and check if there are any functional prototypes to play with. I'm intrigued to see how the camera feels in my hands, the SL is near perfect, and a comparison would be helpful.

any idea whether LENR off option is available on Lumix SL mount cameras?

Without having any information, I deem it much more likely that Panasonic offers optional than fixed LENR. For SL2, given Leica's effort to keep the S3-sensor cold

"We really worked on making the sensor very power efficient with extremely low heat output. By running the sensor cooler, this gives the user better battery life, but also delivers the best image quality. You don’t want a hot sensor. Not for video, and not for absolute best image quality" (https://www.reddotforum.com/content/2018/09/photokina-2018-the-leica-s3/)

it could be that also Leica - eventually - offers optional LENR. For the Panasonic bodies, we might know later today, for SL2, we know sometime in 2019 (I would assume).

The few glimpses I saw indicate it has the SL EVF ..... which is borne out with the blurb.

I suspect even more of the internals have been swapped between the S1R and SL2 and that the only major differences are going to be the external controls, menus and some of the firmware. I think the hardware collaboration will be much deeper than just the L mount ......

If the S1's are going to be available in March then the SL2 should be landing very soon .......it has to - or Leica may see some defections .....

Hmmm, i hope the RAWs are better. The Jpgs have weird artefacts and looks oversharpened...
May be JPGs are saved with low quality?
