Some test prints (darkroom) from my new 1970 Summilux 35mm. M2 with Pan F in Moersch Tanol. The picture in Le Roc cafe https://harbourmarine.co.uk/cafe/ was taken at f1.4 to see what the Summilux “glow” would look like? Highly recommend Le Roc if you are at Southwold harbour. Ignore the strange blue colour cast my I pad adds to some pictures.

Just received my copy of the Summilux 35 1.4 Classic and apart from the slight disappointment that they only make this lens in Chrome/Silver rather Black that I know will linger for a while my first impressions are very favourable. I do like the size of the lens and the ergonomics work well for me on the M bodies. The first negatives are looking very good and the lens wide open does have the "character" that I was looking for in yet another 35mm.

Primarily I bought this Summilux Classic version for film use. I have it's larger sibling the Summilux 35 FLE which I am also happy with and the Summicron f2 ASPH ( 2022 ) that I will most likely sell in the near future because I have never gelled with it's ergonomics. For the Classic I will only use the vented hood, the 12486 ( OLLUX ?? ), remains in the box as I find it a bit ridiculous, too large, and it will not be used.
