Just got acquired from KEH a German 35mm 1.4 v2 Summilux mid 80s vintage. Can't believe they rated this lens in "bargain" condition I knew they conservatively grade but I was shocked couldn't find a scratch really on it. Anyway loving the lens so far getting to know it capabilities and handling.... I'll post some images soon. Wondering which hood would work for this lens? I see there is a Leica clip on and a threaded do they both work? or are there other options? Would like to keep it as compact as possible.

No threaded hood i'm aware of on the Summilux 35/1.4 v2. Only the traditional 12504 clip-on hood with two halves to put series 7 filters into them. This hood is expensive but nice China-made copies are available on e**y.

Thanks you know how much viewfinder blockage if any with the 12504 hood?

I've got an M10-P and M9 probably mostly use it on the M10-P

The M10-P has the same EBL (effective base length) as the M11 on which the VF blockage due to the 12504 hood looks like this at 1 meter focus distance approximately:
