Advertisement Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Hi AndreasG, Take a look here 35mm 1.4 Summilux pre-asph. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
KFo Posted November 30, 2021 Share #642 Posted November 30, 2021 (edited) I'm coming at this lens from the angle of: "how does this fit into my style." Using it pretty intensively the last few days to understand. Wow, the flare, I need to get a hood for this baby. <It made me get my Summilux 35 1.4 ASPH FLE out...gawd that thing is huge! It's been a while. Just wow. The current version is pretty amazing piece of engineering; that doesn't mean it's right for you though!> Summilux 35 f/1.4 V2 (1972 build) wide open M10P. My wingdog. He has my back while I'm shooting in the city. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! KFo Posted December 2, 2021 Share #643 Posted December 2, 2021 Finding the way into this lens.... I'm liking the natural vignetting All below with M10P Summilux 35 f/1.4 wide open First something along the lines of my style. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Out in the evening in Barrio Vallcarca. I was switching between the old 1972 Summilux lens and latest 1.4 ASPH FLE. As I said earlier, the new lens is really a piece of work. Here, third or lesser best image from the evening with the 1972 lens. I had to make big compromises to avoid lights projecting ONTO the lens. Here, again in Barrio Vallcarca. Lights in the frame don't seem to be an issue, no flare anyway. I like what I'm thinking of as the cinematic rendering of this lens. It fits with some of my current work where I've been cropping into extremely wide almost panoramic frames. Here, about as glowy as I would ever want, but I think good for the subject. Once again, cinematic.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Out in the evening in Barrio Vallcarca. KFo Posted December 2, 2021 Share #644 Posted December 2, 2021 Above Park Güell, Barcelona. From a series of photos of tourist photos around Barcelona. I like the temperate treatment, not exactly soft focus, but delicate. The opposite of Martin Parr I think. M10P, Summilux 35 f/1.4 wide open Welcome, dear visitor! Someone told me today that I spent too much time talking (someone else even said "bragging about expensive lenses") and never used my gear. So I've decided to spend more time on the the image threads and post some of the 600K+ photos I have on my dropbox. Tell me when to stop! 600,000 images on Dropbox - jeez, what a slacker! 😅

No one can ever accuse your M cameras and lenses of being safe queens - or accuse you of being a poser. I need to follow your example, @Steven; I have had too much negative in my life of late, dragging me down and draining me of my desire to go out shooting. Saturday (12-4) that will change, as I will get to shoot our local Krampus festival. I have media credentials, so I will have unlimited access to the event. I'm looking forward to this with great anticipation.

KFo Posted December 4, 2021 Share #657 Posted December 4, 2021 (edited) On 12/2/2021 at 11:09 PM, Steven said: I shoot like an addict. Me too. But, we have work to do to catch the master (not my math, but what's +/- a million photos anyway): How many photographs did Winogrand take exactly in his lifetime? Let’s do the math by once again taking a look at photos collected at his death and photos stored in his archive: (Left behind at his death) 2,500 undeveloped film = 90,000 photos 6,500 developed (but not contact sheets) = 234,000 photos 3,000 contact sheets = 108,000 photos Total: 432,000 photos (In Winogrand’s Archive) 20,000 contact sheets = 720,000 photos 100,000 negatives = 3,600,000 photos 30,500 color slides = 1,098,000 photos Total: 5,418,000 photos In total (on the low end) we can be certain that he shot at least 5,850,000 photos in his lifetime. He passed away and never saw nearly half a million of his shots (432,000 photos) and in his archive they have around 5,418,000 photos. But Better yet: Assuming that he shot 5,850,000 photos in his lifetime (and shot for 36 years), that would equate to 445 photographs a day (or 12 rolls of film a day). Back to the topic..... Barrio Vallcarca, Barcelona. Doll House. M10P, Summilux 35 f/1.4 v2 (1972). Not wide open...approx f/4. I was shooting "normal" apertures that day. Welcome, dear visitor!
