This was shot with evening light, with an Elmarit R 90mm fitted on a Fuji S5 Pro.

Comments are welcome.

Roadrunner -- Another visitor to our Breakfast on the Patio. Extremely lucky shot as I had the 75-200mm and the Apo 2x on my Sony A7RII and no time to reflect so just point and shoot! The lens choice was to catch a few Hummingbirds approx 5 meters away, so I already had the distance manually set, which is why I think it worked, as those birds are a bit skittish. Setting was 1/4000 and iso 12800 with no idea of f value 🙂

CL with 180mm Elmarit-R v. 2 + APO-Extender-R 2X . . .

Stands up well to its APO relative on 24mp full-frame, but really shows its age here on a more demanding sensor.  But it still has a bit more edge acuity and renders details slightly better than many contemporary "mere mortal" telephoto options . . .

Nice! I particularly like the composition here - the three layers - Green, Brown in the middle and the white and gray stone bottom third - how the bird is situated relative to those and even how they lines of the background converge to the right while the bird and its beak point to the right.  It really serves to stage the bird so well.  I think I would crop a little of that blown out white stone on the bottom and maybe a little green of the top.
