I quite like the contrast here between the kitten and that massive club of a left hand.  Nice expression & tones too.

Is your dad a Blacksmith?

First time using Fomapan 400.  I don’t think I like it.  It is a lot grainier than Tri-X, more of an old school look.

M3, Zeiss 50mm Planar f2, develop and scan by AG photolab.

Isn’t that very dependent on the developer used? If AG uses a generic developer for all incoming films, this may not be optimal for Fomapan 400. Scanning has an influence too.

Yes I am sure those factors have an influence.  If I had full control of the process maybe I could find a way to get results I like from Fomapan 400.  All I know is that I prefer the results I get from Tri-X, processed and scanned by AG, by a significant margin.

Agree, I’ve started using DDX for films like Fomapan and Tri-X and found it gives an easier on the eye grain.

I used DDX and found that it is much like HC110. My conjecture is that many labs use D76 in some sort of replenish procedure which has quite a sharp grain to my mind.
