earleygallery Posted May 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I finally got around to writing up a brief article for beginners to processing B&W silver halide films on my blog; https://jamesearleyphotoblog.wordpress.com/2017/05/04/processing-your-own-bw-film-is-easy/ It's not a complete step by step guide although I do include a link to one, but more of an overview with some useful tips and resources for anyone thinking of giving home processing a go. Hopefully some might find it helpful.

Michael Hiles Posted May 5, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 5, 2017 Good stuff. You touch on a lot of little things, which if got right, make the whole process less stressful. You make it sound simple (which of course it is). Congrats.

pico Posted May 5, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 5, 2017 I especially appreciate your advice regarding agitation because in my earlier days I over did it and created sprocket hole artifacts and edge density. Thanks for that. One tip that helped was, "Do not fill the tank to the very top. Leave a bubble in the top because when inverting the tank it will serve to move the chemicals properly, without violence." Best.Pico
earleygallery Posted May 5, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted May 5, 2017 Thanks Pico. I've made the same mistakes in the past - pretty sure we all have!
