Never any heavy editing, just exposure adjustments when necessary due to the fact that he’s a very fast hip shooter. According to Alan Schaller - One Camera, One Lens (2020), Alan uses Lightroom and Silver Effex Pro and does quite a bit of editing. However, with experience, he can take shots that require less editing. He also thinks that Presets are the devil :).

Mikep996 Posted January 1, 2022 Share #1209 Posted January 1, 2022 "the most I ever had was 18 Leica lenses" I have only six Leica lenses and no other M-mount lenses. In reality, six seems to be four more than I need/use! 90% of my shots are with two - pretty much equally divided between the 28mm Elmarit M and the 50mm Cron. Oddly, for a Leica user, I don't own a 35mm lens! Yeah, I know it seems like blasphemy but I never liked a 35.. I had one years ago ...because Leica owners are supposed to have one...but I found it to be either too wide or too narrow for whatever I happened to be photographing. You can't shoot with a lens you don't possess, so while I'm sure some will urge you to repent, I doubt you'll be brought to the tribunal unless you buy another half dozen non-35mm lenses or so. In my collection, I own a few 35mms, but rarely use them anymore as I see in terms of 50mm and, as you, prefer to compliment that focal length with a 28mm. Where it not for carrying the latter, I'm sure I would have been dragged before the inquisitors long ago.😀

Camaro5 Posted January 5, 2022 Share #1213 Posted January 5, 2022 My philosophy is a little different. If I don't use it, I don't keep it. I have pared down to just three M lenses and three lenses for my CL, two of which are Leica (with one Sigma). This kind of setup aligns with my style and subject matter and (at the moment) I don't really need anything more. In the past I've had more lenses that I'd ever need or use with another system, and it didn't make sense to have all this stuff for the one time in a blue moon when I might use it. I could almost get on board with the "one camera, one lens" philosophy but it would be a little too confining.

Mikep996 Posted January 9, 2022 Share #1215 Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) Me too! Two is the most I've ever owned at once. Currently an M10 and an M10R BP. I plan to put the 10 on eBay soon and be down to my usual compliment of Leicas - one. Interestingly - on Ebay I see several used M10Rs for considerably under their used prices of a couple of months ago while used M10s are still selling for the same prices they sold for then. Seems odd...🤔 Edited January 9, 2022 by Mikep996

Not have that brightness sensor mucking up the top plate. Not have that focusing button on the front of the camera. Have neither a red spot nor an oversized screw, but either a black chrome or silver chrome dot to match the body. Have the classic top plate engraving. Have a combined shutter speed + ISO + EV compensation dial like the Minolta CLE and Zeiss Ikon. Have a new sensor: 36-50mp, higher dynamic range, global shutter, etc. Have video. Have IBIS. Have better WiFi implementation. Have a touchscreen like the M10-P. Have internal memory. Have a battery that pops out like on the S- and SL-series bodies. How'd everybody do on their wishlists? Six out of thirteen (maybe eight when the M11-P comes out) isn't bad!

Too many steps on the M10 to make a connection. Interesting seeing my thoughts five years ago after getting the M10. Two of my wishes came true with the M10-P. Most others made it to the M11. My top wish to place an la carte order on launch day is still a pipe dream… * don’t know why I thought at the time that the back screen frame was plastic. It clearly is not.
