I used both a uv-filter and a FISON hood on the Summar to protect its uncoated and weak front lens. Sorry to say that thenglas of neither the filter nor the lens are mint but who cares?

I thought so. I also have a 1934 Summar, but because of the soft glas a former owner had it coated in the 50ties.

Less worries now for me using it.
