Corners are not perfect and CA is quite noticeable, but it's not too shabby for a lens that has a reputation for being the worst of the Contax G lot.

@genji
we can only edit our own posts for a limited time after we posted it.
however, left from the post number in the upper right corner of a post, there are the 3 dots for 'more options'.
one of them is report. this will send a message to the moderator team with a link to the message. you can explain why you 'report' your own post.
I wonder if any of the moderators will take the time to delete the post though.

Thank you. I have filed reports on the two offending posts, asking that they be removed.

I'm really enjoying this Chiyoko Super Rokkor 50/2. It's supposed to be a Summitar clone and I can see hints of it. Not quite as wild and untamed but still an interesting lens for my M240. A view of a usual suspect...

Picked up one of these out of curiosity, to compare with my copy of the Helios-103. They are supposed to be the same lens, the Menopta having been manufactured in smaller volumes over a few months in 93-94, possibly with leftover parts, several years after production of the Helios-103 had ceased. Some say the Menopta was an “export” product, others that it was a “special edition” offered as an alternative to the J-8 for the Contax Kiev cameras.

M240 M-P & Summicron 35mm version. IV

Somewhere in the eighties a comparison was made between the 40mm M-Rokkor and the 35mm version IV [in an Italian magazine]. The M-Rokkor was decribed as an improved 35mm version 3, also having 6 elements, but adapted for better rendering in corners. They also described the color transfer functions of both lenses. The M-Rokkor was very good, but the version IV had an almost equal transfer of the main colors - maybe what some would now call a [near] apochromatic. Anyway, I have not often seen a lens that showed the reds so lush without blooming as this lens. 3D on my screen.

Above is a 40% crop of the picture.

Nice pics. FWIW the M240 tends to oversaturate reds actually so shooting flowers can be a problem, at least for jpeg shooters. Now i own both Cron 35/2 v4 and Rokkor 40/2 for Minolta CLE and i can't seem to see significant differences i must say. Too bad i have no Leica pics to show you but i don't like much flashy reds personally so you may not like my pics anyway

Is that a Mimosa Pudica that folds its leaves inwards when touched, LCT?  (I don't think I've seen its wonderful flower before.)
