M240 M-P & Summicron 35mm version. IV

Somewhere in the eighties a comparison was made between the 40mm M-Rokkor and the 35mm version IV [in an Italian magazine]. The M-Rokkor was decribed as an improved 35mm version 3, also having 6 elements, but adapted for better rendering in corners. They also described the color transfer functions of both lenses. The M-Rokkor was very good, but the version IV had an almost equal transfer of the main colors - maybe what some would now call a [near] apochromatic. Anyway, I have not often seen a lens that showed the reds so lush without blooming as this lens. 3D on my screen.

Above is a 40% crop of the picture.

Nice pics. FWIW the M240 tends to oversaturate reds actually so shooting flowers can be a problem, at least for jpeg shooters. Now i own both Cron 35/2 v4 and Rokkor 40/2 for Minolta CLE and i can't seem to see significant differences i must say. Too bad i have no Leica pics to show you but i don't like much flashy reds personally so you may not like my pics anyway

Is that a Mimosa Pudica that folds its leaves inwards when touched, LCT?  (I don't think I've seen its wonderful flower before.)

Ah thank you.

From Wikipedia: "Albizia is a genus of more than 160 species of mostly fast-growing subtropical and tropical trees and shrubs in the subfamily Mimosoideae." so it is a Mimosa and related to the Pudica.

All right, since my previous posts seem to have led to frantic enquiries in the past 24 hours on this forum and beyond 😁, the mystery of the Zorkiter-3K shall now be revealed...

A word of background: Zorki ZK ("3K" in cyrillic) lenses were assembled in limited quantities between 1948 and 1950 with spoils of war including Zeiss glass and components, before being subsequently replaced by entirely Russian-made Jupiters when the inventory ran out. As far as FSU lenses go, they are therefore rather uncommon, if not rare, especially in LTM.
It is also well known that there was an extensive Soviet-era production of fake CZJ 50/1.5 LTM Sonnars.

Now, I came across this lens on eBay a couple of years ago: it actually looks like a Jupiter-3, but the beauty ring says it's a ZK 50/1.5. I also own a 'genuine' ZK 50/1.5 copy, which looks (except the front engravings, of course) like a bona fide CZJ LTM Sonnar - and not quite like this lens.
So neither a real ZK nor a CZJ Sonnar fake. Confusing, right? In a nutshell, I was looking at a fake Zorki ZK 50/1.5 - or, to put it differently, Russians 'faking themselves'!

Unsurprisingly, curiosity got the better of me and, after some haggling with the Ukrainian seller, I agreed to pay what a clean J-3 should cost. I later sent it to Chris Andreyo (Skyllaney) for evaluation and CLA, who confirmed it is indeed a J-3 from the 80's disguised as a 1950 ZK. Chris even wrote a post about it on the Skyllaney FB account.
The good news is that, in terms of performance, the lens is a pretty good J-3...

Here again the Zorkiter-3K (not a great name btw, but I couldn't come up with something better) on the M10P ASC, both wide open.

Edit: in case you are wondering, neither of these is my garden...🙄
