interesting as ive never heard of a T/TL lens failing :)

They are made in Japan.  https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/225825-t-lens-manufacturer/page-1    Leica has outsourced manufacture of  some of their lenses and lens components for many years e.g., in the past, Kyocera, Sigma, Agfa, Novoflex, Minolta, Zeiss, Schneider, Angénieux … third party manufacture of Leica lenses is nothing new. Some die-hard Leicaphiles do not like the idea of their beloved Leica lenses being manufactured outside of Wetzlar or Solms :)

The first 2 lenses were made in Japan.  I am not so sure about the other ones.  I thought the 35mm and the 60mm for sure were made in Germany.  Not that it really matters, as long as they are good it does not matter where they are made.

So remaining announced lenses on roadmap & current dates:

16-35: April 2018 (same as prior to this announcement)

35/2: Second half of 2018 (was Spring 2018 prior to today)

50/2: Second half of 2018 (new announcement today)

75&90 come in at ~700g and ~$5k each.

Overall good news, hopefully the 35/2 doesn’t slip too far out.

A bit unfortunate that the 35mm got pushed back till the 2nd half of 2018...

Also the weight is what I expected but I hoped for slightly less to be honest...

Interested in the 35mm and the new 50mm, will await reviews and first impressions for the 75mm and 90mm, the 16-35 is no-go for me without OIS.

I'll really interested in the reviews of the 75mm in terms of AF speed and accuracy.

Would have loved to see a macro and a Tilt/Shift lens added to the roadmap, but happy that the 75 will be out soon and 16-35 is still on track.

speaking of AF speed..the SL 50 summilux price in HK has gone down to 3900$ within this week

We knew the size and could guess the weight and price of the 75 and 90 before now. The interesting remaining element (for me) is focusing speed. They seem to be making a big play about the AF mechanism, as if this is a new approach for Leica. Here's hoping.

I'm reasonably close to the front of the line for the 16-35 SL at my dealer's.  Hope to have one before summer starts.  And I'm intrigued by the APO 50 Summicron-SL.  Since the APO 50 SC-M is such a special lens, I wonder what the new SL SC will do to top it?

P.S.  There's a discussion of some details of the focus/distance rendering the closest focus set by a requirement that the tele's can reach 5:1 reduction ratio, and the autofocus engineering.  They claim each of the two stepper motors moves only one of the two focusing elements, and that there are innocations in the software control loop for autofocus.

Looks like they are designed as standard containers for downloading lenses assemblies  :)

Just insert the right number of assemblies to meet the orders and voila, ready to deliver! Just in time assembly.

I wonder how many of the elements, casings and mechanisms are identical for the 75mm and 90mm.
