...klicken Sie to embiggen the picture

In proper German this should be "clicken Sie the picture to embiggen"; but I realize that you must be joking because I'm sure you know that in German the verb at the end of the sentence goes.

So, Doug how do you find the SL to be for your type of photography compared to what you have been using? Looks great from this picture.

The viewfinder's automatic brightness feature is a problem, I need to be able to make the exposure preview mode sticky.  Once that's fixed my wallet will be considerably lighter.

I keep asking myself if the SL I own can replace my MM246.  Oftentimes, when I convert images taken with the SL to black and white, I think perhaps so, but then when I look back at some of those shots from the MM246, I am not convinced.  Perhaps I should seek therapy over my guilt for having both.  ;) From this afternoon with the SL and 24-90....

Is there any (visible) difference between the 90 Apo and the 24-90 (@90) ?

If yes, how would you describe the characteristics ?

Thanks !

I have them both, but have not consciously made a comparison between the two.  Now that you have posed the question, I will pay more attention.  The 90 APO is outstanding on the SL, and it is the lens I use the most with the SL.  Previously used on the M240, the 90 APO proved difficult in achieving consistent focus, and because of that, it sat on the bench out of the game most of the time.  Had I not purchased the SL, I would have sold it by now.

I now have a project, and I will post my findings as I discover them.

all: Leica SL + Elmar-R 180mm f/4

I made a minor mistake with this set by forgetting to set the proper lens code for the 180mm; it was set to the APO 90mm lens. One or two frames (not posted) showed the defective inverse-vignetting that the APO-90 lens code produces. The rest were fine as the subject matter didn't lend itself to exhibiting the problem.

enjoy!
